Hi dear Google and Connect Moderators
I have been promoting my beautiful country in Connect for almost two years now, and I have been writing about 510 posts and sharing more than 970 photos about culture, foods and tourist attractions in my country.
I’ve been traveling and eco touring for about 22 years ago till now, As a result, I want to share photos about tourist attractions, foods, Culture and Etc about Iran. Dear Moderators may say that I delete photos from previous posts, but most of the photos are about tourist attractions and I can’t delete them and would like my colleagues to see them on Connect.
Please remove the limitation of 1000 photos for me.
We do appreciate your contribution and your beautiful photos however note that there is a photo limit here on Connect of 1000 photos per user and we don’t make exceptions in removing the limit.
Note that the limit is referred to Connect and not to Maps, if you share a large amount of photos I do suggest you make an album on an external source such as Google Photo and link the album here, this will not be counted under the limit.
@Rezgar in the mean time until a more permanent solution is brought back (copy and paste from a shared Google Photos album which we could do last time), many of us started to use collages to display many photos as one picture, to reduce photo quota usage. And it’s worth looking through our Connect photo album and removing not relevant photos that we dont use.
Hi @Rezgar thank you for reaching out. We do have other options that can enable us to share more photos without being affected by the limit. Share from Google photos as a link mentioned by @LuigiZ and also you can use the collage method mentioned by @StephenAbraham .
To add on that, you can also use the Connect photo library enabling us to use photos without using external sources, see this post on How do I use the Connect Photo Library?.
I am sure we do have local guides who have been here longer and they are still maintaining their photo limits, not to exceed the limit, I am sure you can do it too by using the above given options. While waiting, you can check out this idea similar to your problem Display external image file function (To avoid 1,000 photos limitation) and vote for it to support the idea. Cheers!
Can you be more specific, what exactly do you mean by “link the album here”! How do you do this and where is here? BTW I tried adding a link to a specific Google Photo into a new Connect post and it failed.
I mean create an album for the specific topic on Google Photo and make a share URL of it from the top right share button:
Then paste it here in the post content, maybe at the end, just like @MortenCopenhagen did above, something like:
Have a look at the full album here: LINK
The link of course doesn’t render as an image here inside the post but it is meant to have additional photos the readers can look at while you insert in the post the most significant and catching ones, maybe with some collages as well to include multiple photos.
Thank you @LuigiZ for taking the time to add more details. So is my understanding correct that you create an album in Google Photos in which you add or post all photos that you wish to share on Connect and then simply add a link to that shared folder in each and every Connect post that makes a reference to one or more of the photos or collages within that album?
actually you might choose what you think is better for your case however I would suggest to create an album for each specific topic where you need to share lot of pictures, and share its link in the relative post on Connect.
Otherwise the album would be just too full of photos and confusing for the people who are reading the specific post(s) and looking for its pictures.
In general this is a good way how to share lot of pictures, consider that the number of photos embedded in a post, if too much, is also affecting the readability of the post itself whatever way what you use (e.g. an external HTML tag), besides the fact that many users might not know how to use HTML being a bit more technical item .
