It’s not right to solicit following.
On a visit to your profile, the would-be followers will choose to follow after going through the quality of contributions.
However, you have chosen to keep your profile locked. How can the prospective follower go through your reviews & photos?

Oh joy, more competitive “gamification” of an otherwise useful feature just so people can brag about how popular they are.
No doubt they’ll be a badge for it at some point just to diminish the quality even further.
