Playgrounds in the clouds

We recently visited the beautiful country of Austria. The views are awe-inspiring with lots to see and do for a visitor to the area. The main tourist industry is skiing but during the summer months with an absence of snow (except in really high areas) the visitor is still well catered for.

Having two children with us we were keen to find some playgrounds for them… we weren’t disappointed. Austria is very child-friendly with some awesome activities for the youngsters. From water parks to swimming pools and wooden castles they had lots to interact with.

One of the favourites was a ‘ball run’. We had to purchase a wooden ball from a vending machine (€1) which the children then rolled down a series of wooden channels which followed a mountain path. This was very popular and the kids loved it… although we did have to make sure it didn’t go too quickly and roll down the mountain instead!

Austria has much to offer, it’s literally a sight for sore eyes with its astounding beauty, great places to eat and drink and friendly locals, but the fact they care so much about children’s fun and entertainment in the great outdoors added a special extra to the vacation.

Thank you for sharing your post @RussKH . I have never heard of the ‘ball run’’ before, it sounds entertaining for kids.

Did you go for hiking? How long did you stay? It is a good approach to add the Google Maps link of the place, so we can see more photos.

@RussKH I would like to pretend to be a kid and go play in that playground. It would be fun for sure. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Wonderful description and pictures @RussKH . This reminds of Dharmshala. It has similar views and a cricket stadium with the mountain backdrops.

Are we allowed to take the wooden ball back to our country?
