I would like to make a train ride on the historical rail-route Baghdad–Mosul. Can any of our LGs in Baghdad and/or Mosul tell me, whether there is a train going, if yes, how long does it take, how often per week, how much does it cost, and where I can buy tickets?
If the train connection is not working, which bus connections would be advisable?

Yesterday I got the info from a LG in Mosul that the entirely destroyed Mosul Central Train Station is under reconstruction: more here . That might take some time but gives hope that the train connection Baghdad–Mosul will be revived at some point. Meanwhile I’ll look for alternative ways to travel along the Tigris from the capital to the north.
