Planes, Trains, Automobiles & ME

I enjoy the petty pleasures, I collect toy cars, airplane models, trains,… while someone in their garages in a villa
collect real cars. Which is worst, it usually has a sedan with tinted glass. No one sees him, and he is, poor, Audi he bought it is to be seen.

But I often think I’m happier. Because who can not enjoy the small things he can not even understand.

my modest start in collecting

Who is the real collector? Is it one that has a thousand models or one with 50, or 150. Is it a passionate collector who puts 5,000 euros in a pocket and buys a whole lot of things at once, or who completes his collection for weeks, months, for making choices. As always, everything depends on purchasing power, but … A passionate collector can be with little money. He patiently seeks what he needs, and he often purchases it. Then it is cleaned, painted, refreshed …

A true collector always keeps his models on the shelf or in the showcase to look at his pets at any time. A real collector regularly removes dust from his models. A real collector buys books, magazines, encyclopedias … from the industry and then, according to the original, compares and updates his models. Or analyzes models from many manufacturers looking for the most reliable replica, but at an affordable price. Because anyone who has money can buy Exoto … but whether it’s a real collector or one who makes his 10 times cheaper model look more like an original.

Nowadays, models of various sizes are offered to us. the choice is on the buyer or collector himself which size will be selected as the primary collection. Some buy smaller models for practical reasons (due to limited space for displaying models), some are larger due to their details. It does not always mean that it is bigger - more expensive. As an example, take one Minichamps BMW in the scale of 1:43, which is more expensive than Bburago at 1:18 scale.

photo from Novi Sad Stock Exchange models of toy cars

The Novi Sad Stock Exchange (models of cars, buses and trucks) emerged from the need of collectors for association to exchange cars (exchange, buying and selling). In every major city there is a place where people who connect the same hobby come together, so this is the case with our city Novi Sad. The overriding goal is to connect and to maintain continuity, that is, every first week of the month they gather and enjoyed in this beautiful hobby. Thanks to the magic of the Internet, collectors are connected virtually, and the Exchange is there to connect them in the real world.

In the cafe “Sting” (the northern stand of the Vojvodina stadium) is the place where Novi Sad collectors of cars are gathering.

Google maps has been my trusted friend during my travels and with Local guides, I have the opportunity to give something back, I love doing it by

informing all of people that are just like i am.

Being a local guide has allowed me to help collectors to find places that are interesting to them from airshows to oldtimer gatherings,…

- Traktorijada 2017 Banatsko Novo Selo

Novoseljanska “Trakorijada”, the fifth in a row, gathered farmers from Vojvodina and other parts of Serbia. The accent of this manifestation is on agricultural machinery, old and new. Representatives of the republic and provincial government who opened the event reminded the producers of the efforts the state makes for the purchase of tractors and other necessary machines.

Modern agriculture can not be imagined without modern mechanization. “Traktorijada” in Banatsko Selo promotes its significance by gathering new and used machines for tractors and tractors, as well as tractor drivers who drive these machines amazes the audience with their driving techniques.

- In company with Fića & Vespa 2016

The Zastava 750 was a supermini made by the Serbian car maker Zavod Crvena Zastava in Kragujevac. It was a version of the Fiat 600 made under licence from 1962 and was longer in length than the Fiat version. The Zastava 750 has a 767 cc (46.8 cu in) engine, which produces 25 PS (18.4 kW). The more powerful 750 SE has 30 PS (22.1 kW) at 5400 rpm and torque is 38 lb⋅ft (52 N⋅m) at 3600 rpm.[2] It is the smallest car ever made by Zastava. Later on during production, in 1980, the Zastava 850 was introduced. It is nearly identical to the Zastava 750 but the engine had a larger capacity. The Zastava 850 is harder to find than the 750 model but both are still widely available in former Yugoslavia.

Zastava 750 is widely known by its nickname “Fića”.

Production of the Zastava 750 began on 18 October 1955 and ended on 18 November 1985. The car’s popularity has started increasing in the last years, partly from the low fuel consumption and very cheap price as a second hand vehicle. Also it starting to become a symbol for nostalgia, and many youngsters that need cheap utilitarian vehicle with a bohemian status symbol are buying this car as a second hand vehicle. Because of that prices have risen in the last couple of years and many fan clubs have emerged.

Vespa is an Italian brand of scooter manufactured by Piaggio. The name means wasp in Italian. The Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. S.p.A. of Pontedera, Italy to a full line of scooters and one of seven companies today owned by Piaggio.

From their inception, Vespa scooters have been known for their painted, pressed steel unibody which combines a complete cowling for the engine (enclosing the engine mechanism and concealing dirt or grease), a flat floorboard (providing foot protection), and a prominent front fairing (providing wind protection) into a structural unit.

- LEGIOVLAK

Bratislava Transport Museum (Múzeum dopravy Bratislava) is a transport museum in Bratislava, Slovakia. It is a branch of the Slovak Technical Museum in Košice, is situated on the site of the first steam-railway station in Bratislava on Šancová Street, near the current main railway station in central Bratislava. It opened on June 24, 1999.

The two exhibition halls of the museum include just under 100 motorcars, 25 historical motorcycles and numerous technical accessories.

Vehicles in the collection date from the inter-war period up to the 1970s. These include prototypes, military and government vehicles.

On the museum’s railway tracks various steam and electrical locomotives are exhibited.

Legiovlak is an ambitious project of the Czechoslovak Legionary Community, which has set out to create a faithful replica of the legionnaire train from the period 1918-1920, when war operations of the Czechoslovak Legion took place on the Trans-Siberian Highway in Russia. The train has been crossing the entire Czech Republic since May 2015 and its journey will end in 2020.

Legiovlak helps the public and, above all, youth renew awareness of the Czechoslovak legions and their merits in establishing an independent Czechoslovak state.

- Meeting of Ultralight aircraft pilots 2014

As every year the second half of May is reserved for a group of ultra-light aircraft pilots and a celebration of the club’s day.

A smile appeared on the faces of many visitors and they admired the scene they had not seen so far over their airport.

Modelers also showed their skills.

For the end, all visitors are provided with access to aircraft, talking with pilots and instructors, as well as taking photos near aircraft.

Airfield 13. MAJ is located next to the Belgrade-Novi Sad railway on the left after Zemun Polje. The runway is a parallel line at a distance of 70 meters, the stretching line 135-315 above the altitude of the runway is 79m. The foundation is grass, and the dimensions are 650x25m.

- Star Wars Day

The GRAD European Centre for Culture and Debate, also known as KC GRAD, was opened on April 16, 2009. It is a product of a joint initiative of the Cultural Front Belgrade and the Amsterdam Felix Meritis Foundation.

KC Grad is situated in an old 1884 warehouse located in the old, neglected and rundown industrial neighborhood in the very heart of Belgrade, on the banks of the Sava River. The KC GRAD building consists of two levels of a total of 397 square meters in size. It houses a large gallery space and an art library on the upper floor. The Steve Austen café bar and the Gradstor art shop are located on the ground floor. In addition to exhibitions, KC GRAD also organizes conferences, debates, book launches, workshops, music programs, film screenings and many other events.

Star Wars Day, May 4, celebrates George Lucas’ Star Wars. It is observed by fans of the media franchise.

For the devoted Star Wars fan no single day deserves more Star Wars love than any other. But then again, those of us who buy into distant intergalactic battles happening “a long time ago,” and a mystical energy field wielded by robe-wearing warriors also appreciate a genuinely good pun. This is at the heart of celebrating May the 4th, or Star Wars Day as it’s now recognized, a semi-official holiday that dates back much further than social media. In fact, it may be the longest running and most recognized fan-initiated pop-culture holiday.

Hi @JaroslavMadacki

You’re welcome! It is a really nice post.

I like your hobbies a lot. My uncle has a similar one, he is RC aircraft modeler and also flights with ultralights. There is a saying that men will remain kids forever and I agree with that :).
