I am a local guide in Amsterdam and in the beginning of June I am travelling to Hamburg with a large group of 20 friends. I was just wondering if other local guides in Hamburg can suggest the best neighbourhood to stay for us.
I have found that around Central Station there are some decent spots. We are a group who would like to go out and enjoy the city by walking around, having a beer and enjoy good food. So if there are any other tips. Please feel free and help me out. Everything is welcome and helpful.
Perhaps @TorM could help you with that, as he knows Germany quite good. I personally never been to Hamburg, but I am intrigued to visit the city for a weekend in springtime like you are planning to do.
always such questions are quite difficult, but as you are from Amsterdam I believe you will found most fun around St. Pauli around the Reeperbahn. https://goo.gl/maps/Zqpc4cN2Yg42 . As closer to the Elbe river as better. Reeperbahn has been a quite “mystic” redlight area, but nowadays it is fine.
I know it is a difficult question, but your answer satisfy me. I have spoken to some people who went there and also said around the reeperbahn is good. Pricewise it also pretty good so I will search for some places around the Reeperbahn. Thanks for some must sees. I will be looking for A day activity for the group as well so if you know anything like a workshop cooking/cocktails or a brewery that would be great!
Sounds good! Hope you will have a lovely trip to Hamburg. Germany is for sure a brilliant choice! Don’t forget to try the Bratwürste. I know it sounds a bit cliche, but believe me it’s to die for!
Feel free to share your experience with us when you’re back.
Thanks for you message. We are for sure going to a beergarden some nice beers and bratwurst.
So far we have planned an afternoon at a beachclub in Hamburg. I believe thats a great group activity. But it is hard to find other activities. It seems that there are no festivals in our weekend (which is weird, cause it is White monday that weekend). But I will share my thoughts and experience along the way.
