Places That Inspire Places

Hello Everyone,

One of my favorite things about traveling is that there are places that touch people in ways that inspire them to bring that tradition to their homes. From food, art, music, or even cultural traditions. When I had visited Paris France a few years ago one of my favorite places to visit was the Pont des Arts. This bridge has been known for its tradition of love locks. Where couples would lock their love away by putting their initials on a lock, locking it to the bridge, and throwing the key in the river. This tradition has always made me wonder if this has inspired other places to do the same thing. What I found was…

In my very own hometown, there is a bridge that has the same tradition. It is in downtown Houston close to the popular Buffalo Bayou. Couples have been coming to lock their love away and show that their love is unbreakable. This tradition is so inspiring and it speaks to how loudly love is, it does not have any boundaries regardless of where you are from.

I know there are many other traditions that have inspired my home from different foods, music, and fashion.

I would love to hear and see if there are places in your hometown that have been inspired by other places or vice versa. :slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting :slightly_smiling_face: I saw similar things while in Melbourne but I heard they had to remove it once in 5 years to avoid keylocks breaking the bridge @Jason-HTX

Hello @Jason-HTX thanks for sharing this post and amazing fact about this place .

I love the concept of locking the love between couples.

But in my Opinion love don’t need to be lock  Love means freedom.

Thanks for sharing this post

@Mukul_Anand I totally agree with you that love is freedom. I think I that these love locks represent the power of love and how it can be unbreakable. That nothing can break the bond between two people truly in love. Only they have the key to do that :closed_lock_with_key:
