Places of interest near ELURU

Eluru is a City of Coastal Andhra Pradesh State in South India. It is located on the National Highway 16 and also on the main railway track from Kolkata to Chennai. It surrounded by villages, canals and plenty of water sources and the major crop is Paddy. Among others, Mango orchards are famous. I am happy to mention some places of interest around my place. Several hotels offering multi-cuisine dishes and comfortable stay at affordable price.
Dwarka tirumala is an ancient and famous holy pilgrim place, 40 KMs from Eluru. This pilgrimage centre is called “Dwaraka Tirumala” after the great saint, “Dwaraka” who located the self manifested idol of Lord “Sri Venkateswara” in the ant hill.
Kolleru Wild Life Sanctuary, 25 KMs from Eluru. 193 varieties of Birds migrates every year from October and return during March-April. Most of the birds visit Kolleru lake flying from distant countries like Egypt , Siberia , Philippines , Arabia, Australia , China, etc. and return to their Native countries with their Offspring.
The remains of ancient ‘Sangharam’ are available at Jeelakarragudem village 50 KMs from Eluru A group of Rock-cut Chambers i.e. Caves, remains of a Brick-built Chaitya Hall and many “Sthupas” in different sizes, mostly rock-cut and a few structures reveals that Buddhism existed here some centuries ago. The history of Guntupalli caves dated back to 200 B.C.
