In some places, mobile phone numbers are not accepted as the primary business number. I believe this is to protect from spammers taking over the listings using only a mobile number.
What you can do is to suggest to the owner to claim the business and he/she can then change the number once he/she has been verified as the owner.

“My Business” is not supported in our region, guy used to own a shop somewhere else in the same neighborhood, with his cell number on Maps, we changed the number of the old one and it got approved, now that his number is not in any other places it shouldn’t be treated as spam! any help?

What does it mean that Google is not able to verify your edit for a phone number?
Basically means that Google is checking if the number entered by you is registered on a public directory. The scope of this is to avoid fraud, that can happen if the number is not the real number of the business. This kind of fraud was happening several time in the past, so now Google will reject an edit if they cannot find the digital confirmation of a phone number. I am sorry that you find disgusting an initiative that is taken to protect the business against a possible fraud.
So, what if a business only have a mobile phone?
The best option is to have the phone listed on a public directory

I read the “why my edit status …” prior to making this topic. Like I mentioned, the number is corrected in the old place, could I provide anything as an evidence so that moders here suggest the edit to the place?

It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
In my experience there can be a limit to how many unsuccessful edits you can do I a row. Maybe you have tried to change the number too many times.
Do you have some LG friends who would be able to also suggest the same edit. Not just anyone but someone who can verify the number and preferably an LG with a higher level. Having more LG suggest the same edit could make it easier for Google to verify your edit.
BTW why are you taking over an existing salon rather than starting a new one? Old reviews might not be wanted/represent the new place very well.

Unfortunately there are very few local guides in every town here, and I don’t know any higher level fellas here, the place I’m trying to add the number to was made by myself, it’s new, the older one was on another street with his phone number which I managed to change.
I have seen reports that local guides experience a limit to how many edits they can add to new places they have created themselves.
Because of that I always try to add all the information I can find in the first attempt to create a new place. And hence reduce the need for subsequent edits. Also, providing all the necessary details in the first attempt increase the approval rate.
I know this will not help you now, but others might benefit.

By public I don’t mean government run but just publicly accessible. Don’t you have a website where you can look up who owns a phone number?
If such a database would point to the new address this would help Google verify your edit.

Let’s hope it would get approved this time. But please have in mind that some edit are hard to be verified, therefore impossible to be applied as well. It is nothing personal. It helps if you attach some kind of “prove” if possible, for example a photo of a card, where the phone number appears or an image of a sign that connects the number with the location.
Another reason phone numbers are so hard to edit is the fact that Google Maps can use the phone number to verify the ownership of places. If it was easy to change the number, then it would also be easy to highjack a listings ownership.

As completion of what my friend @MortenCopenhagen noted, I should tell that since it is a “Not Applied” edit then the same or another user can suggest new edit for it but when an edit is in pending status we should not do repetitive edits until the result of the first edit. Also approving one edit by different friends and mates will do so and decrease the chance of verifying the edit. Because this is kind of spamming the map and the spam behavior will reduce the chance of approval.
Also, Should remind that higher LG level doesn’t necessarily mean the higher trust level and more ability to do edits.
On the other hand, you added a cell phone number which is not appreciated for a place in a city and so this is harder to be approved.
Moreover, it seems you added 5star rating to your own/or a friend’s business, but this is opposite of the rules and may cause less chance for approving your edits on it.
Note that there are lots of parameters for approving or not applying an edit. Right now the only thing I suggest is to wait some days without any further changes and share the result with us after few days.

@Kia_Faraji If it is not your own business you can review (even 5star) but even in this case if your friendship affected your rating, it is not true, too. Since it doesn’t represent the real conditions of the place. Anyway, each kind of interaction with the place will be considered by the system and will affect the status of your edits, too.
