One of the many beautiful things in the Dallas- Fort Worth area in Texas is the series of beautiful bronze sculptures of cattle in the heart of Dallas. This monumental scale (larger than life size) casted plaza is the second most visited tourist attraction in the Dallas downtown area after Dealey Plaza, the site of Kennedy assassination. Donated by the City of Dallas, this 4.2 acre land is now a beautiful landmark and pride of the city.

Location: The Plaza is located by the Convention Center District, downtown Dallas, TX.
History: In 1995, the Texas Trees Foundation dedicated Pioneer Plaza to the City of Dallas providing a focal point with historical significance for downtown Dallas. It features several native plants and trees of different kinds with a flowing stream, recreating a site of cattle drive in bronze with longhorn steers driven by cowboys on horses. There is also a man made waterfall, cliffs and little brief historical details on the sculptures.
Some facts:
The work started in 1992, with a $4.8 million cost, that came totally from private fund raising.
The trail represents the earliest route used by Texas longhorn cattle.
There are 49 bronze steers and 3 trail riders
