I specifically choose this green scaly fruit with the top that can be replanted to become the basis of a new pineapple plant. This is one of many fruits I try to consume in a regular basis. The color of the inside is a bright yellow and it is very sweet and juicy when ripe.

Pineapple is considered a tropical plant with an edible fruit. I believe everyone knows what it is but I am not sure if everyone has eaten it. The process of peeling the skin off is very tricky due to the eyes that can cause an itch in your mouth if not cleaned very well. Once all the skin is removed I usually sprinkle salt all over it.

Pineapple is packed with vitamin C, copper, and vitamin B. Consuming it in a decent amount will benefit you. It is good for healthy bones and reduce the risk of bone breaks for people with osteoporosis. Eating pineapple before bed time helps (especially me) to have a good night sleep.

Many ways to use pineapple:

  • cut it small add into pizza as the topping

  • the ripe one will taste very sweet and juicy, eat as it is

  • mix with salad

  • blend to make juice

  • blend and boil till the liquid dry and make it as filling or spread (pineapple jam)

  • make the famous pineapple dump cake

I am sure you guys will find more ways to use pineapple.

Happy New Year, fruit lovers and other Local Guides. Let’s hope the new year will bring us peace and prosperity.

Wah, rumahnya Spongebob! Hahaha…

Wkwkk…

@Erna_LaBeau Talking about pineapple, there’s a fun fact about me : I don’t like this fruit unless it is made to something like a cake when I was a kid, but since I came back from Taiwan, I fall in love more and more with pineapple :pineapple:

Eating the fruit only, juice, everything that is made with pineapple, such as cake, nastar, etc, I will love it!

In Taiwan, Pineapple Cake is one of the signature food that you have to try. You could see the example of the Pineapple Cake here . It’s quite similar with nastar from Indonesia, but the Taiwan version is softer and bigger.

I heard that pineapple is not good for pregnant woman, isn’t it?

I have to endure myself from eating pineapple in the future then :joy:

@Velvel I think I know what you are talking about the tase-alike nastar product from Taiwan. It is sold in many Asian stores here.

And fun fact about me, I LOVE cleaning pineapple. My late father in law used to invite me for dinner so I will skin the pineapple for him  . God bless him

Speaking about pregnancy and pineapple, some says it is good to consume it during pregnancy some mothers say it can cause a false alarm. I really do not know the answer to it :slightly_smiling_face:

Happy new year to you and your family!

@Erna_LaBeau One day I will try pineapple with salt and say you. I rarely buy them, they are rather expensive here, and usually we ate them plain or canned.
