Chilling on a boat in the waters around Phuket.
Not all photos work but fun story; When showing that I uploaded the picture to Google Maps to a befriended staff member, the hotel owner claimed I was using his pictures.
Thanks to my other pictures I was able to show the police officer called in (they take that stuff seriously here!) that we actually made the pictures ourselves. That ‘half head’ is namely my wife
I was of course able to show more pictures but seeing she’s in bathing suit, I never posted any of those to protect her privacy.
Got a complimentary night at a nice room and a meal for an apology. Very kind misunderstanding and a story to tell
Wow… That’s a great story… dear fellow LG @Latte .
Very interesting…
I’m from India and I have got into problems while shooting… But not after posting.
I feel our friends @MortenCopenhagen and @AdamGT may have something to say.
Best regards to you all.
Interesting.
I once was able to prove my ownership of a photo in the following (more borring but also more universal) way:
I backup all my photos to Google Photos. Eventhough they get compressed the quality is fine for me. From there I upload them to Google Maps who in turn compress the quite a bit more. So by simply sharing the link to my higher (not full) resolution version my ownership was proved sufficiently.
I hope you enjoyed the extra night. Say hi to your wife.
Cheers
Morten
Wondering now how we could proof better those photos are made by x and y, perhaps if there was some sort of ID like EXIF connected to your Google profile. Hm… something for the idea page I guess.
Do you know @MortenCopenhagen did the Idea-Exchange forum change? It says it’s Read-Only for me and I was only able to find it through my previous input, not showing on the homepage for me anymore.

I’ve went through the settings @MortenCopenhagen of my Sony Xperia 5 Mark III which are huge as once you leave the BASIC menu, it becomes a full fledged camera with all the dings and dongs, but unfortunately no option to edit/add to EXIF information.
Neither does anything shows checking the attributes on PC.
Any idea how or where to add this?
There are numerous apps to manipulate metadata in image files. But you will need to also check if such data survive being uploaded to Google Maps.
Cheers

Boats are always so peaceful and relaxing, and to be in the beautiful waters of Phuket must have been amazing. I’m happy you could have a great time and tell an incredible story. @Latte Thanks For sharing with us.
@Latte ภาพถ่ายของคุณไม่ได้แย่เลย สวยมากๆค่ะ
Hi @Latte ,
luckily everything went well, but how was it possible that the owner didn’t recognize your photos?
However I think I will not show others my photos until I return home.
Thanks for sharing the post.
actually @Latte , taking photos is a feature that can cause problems in some countries because there are many countries where unauthorized photos are a crime, so when taking photos, I try to take them in places where there are no people, so that no one can make a claim. As @MortenCopenhagen said, it is most logical to store them in a place for a while.
@Kpadarinth @ ขอบคุณ mak mak
@DENIT33 on his website there were a bunch of similar photos of the same view. It’s a popular tourist spot and it’s very hard to get a photo like mine as usually there’s a ton of boats blocking. This was taken when Covid restrictions were still in place and we got on a boat from a friend. Even then there were still other boats. I got my picture by cropping out my wife afterwards (don’t tell her ) as I always take my shots as wide as possible with my camera zoom at 0.7.
Oh my word! That’s a beautiful site. High mountains, colourful waters that you can’t take away your eyes from.
