Now that Google got rid of the Street View app I can no longer upload photospheres, they come out flat. The photo does have the GPS info or XMP metadata in it as it always did in the past. Streetview Studio is only for 360 videos, not 360 individual photos.
The image has not been cropped. I haven’t done anything different with the image from what I’ve always done in the past. With the Street View app I never had a problem and now with Google maps the same images come out flat. You can see it here.
I usually upload 360° photos in Google Maps exactly following the same procedure that I use for uploading flat photos in Google Maps, and it works fine for me both on desktop and mobile, as explained in Create & publish Photo Spheres to Google Maps : "You can upload individual Photo Spheres to Google Maps the same way you publish flat images by using the Google Maps app, or the Google Maps platform on your computer. You can also use apps made by other companies, which also allow you to link your Photo Spheres into connected indoor or outdoor virtual tours. Check the app maker’s website for instructions.
After you create links in the chosen tool and publish them to Google Maps, allow up to 4 days for processing to complete.
I found the problem to be that in Photoshop I used “Save For Web” and this erases the file data. So now I’ve used “Save As” and the file data is still there. Now it’s working as it should.
As it seems that you have found the way to fix it, I am flagging your reply as the "solution of the post, because others with the same issue can benefit of it.
