Hi @user_not_found
. How are you doing? Thanks for reach out. If you find a photo shown in wrong place on Google Maps, you can report it, by clicking on the flag icon on the top of the photo. I’d like to let you know that to upload a photo here on Connect, it cannot exceed to 3072k and you can use a free app on your computer or smartphone to reduce it. Maybe this article can help you: Uploading a photo on Connect? Read these guidelines first
Best regards,
Alexandre
@AlexandreCampbell But I can upload this one on FaceBook and Instagram
Hii @user_not_found
if the file is larger than 3,072KB (kilobytes) must be resized. You can use Snapseed or any other photo editing software.
also study the following link
Hi @user_not_found
,
thank you for reaching us out.
as @AlexandreCampbell and @To_paul already mentioned your issue is not about the name or label or position but only about the size.
Here on Connect there is a size limitation per photo of 3027K (3Mb), moreover there is a limit of 1000 photos max per user. Facebook, Instagram or any other platform are working differently so it cannot be compared as those requirements are per platform, consider for example that Facebook and Instagram are compressing your photo and lowering it down in quality while Connect not.
In order to solve the problem you can simply open the photo with any photo free software (e.g. Microsoft Paint or Snapseed on mobile) and resize a bit the photo, often a simple save will just reduce the size as it will modify the compression of the photo.
On top of the link provided by Alexandre and To_Paul (Uploading a photo on Connect: Read these guidelines first) I’m giving you also an extra reference for Tips for Uploading Images to Connect to Stay Within Limit.
@user_not_found
Please note that I have merged your two post, as in fact you are showing the same image, and because in fact also the question about a photo in a wrong location should be addressed on the How To section.
@To_paul , @LuigiZ and @AlexandreCampbell already explained to you that the maximum size of a photo in Connect is 3072 Kb.
Regarding your question about the wrong location of a photo, you don’t need to upload the photo here, you just need to share the link:
- Open the photo in Google Maps
- Click on the three dots on the menu of the photo
- Click on “share”
- Click on “copy link”
- add the link in here: https://goo.gl/maps/TopNgEZfta1CjTFR7
Of course, I don’t know what photo you want to add, so I took the first on
On the same way, clicking on report, you can report a photo to the Google Maps Team. For more information, please read: Add, remove, or share photos and videos . At the end of the article you will find the procedute for reporting a wrong photo
puno hvala na objašnjenju i na linku https://goo.gl/maps/TopNgEZfta1CjTFR7
kada Otvorim link dobijem
It seems you are having a lot of issue with the links on your browser @user_not_found
, BTW in this case you are right, and it seems that the link generated in desktop is giving an error on mobile. Thank you for letting us know. This issue should me probably moved on a new thread, because is not relatedto the previous one
Let me tag a Google moderator, @MashaPS , for checking this last issue.
Masha, I have shared a link generated on Desktop to a photo on Google maps (https://goo.gl/maps/TopNgEZfta1CjTFR7 ). The link is working fine on desktop, but is giving an error on Google Map App: “the link is not supported”, and “cannot reach server” on Safari for mobile. On Chrome for mobile is addressing to the area, but without opening the photo
Tako sam sretan da greška nije u Safariju, već sam pomišljao da je možda problem u mom Ipadu. Kada uspijem odgonetnuti kako se postavlja pohranjivanje screenshota ma Ipadu u Jeg veće kompresije postaviti ću fotografiju koju sam tu mislio postaviti.
