My total photos views figure has stopped updating [ synchronising ] .I can see this has been an ongoing problem . The counter has stopped synchronising , I’ve been stuck on the same figure for nearly a week [though the individual photo count is increasing ].I’ve deleted the cache, logged out but its the same on my android as on my desktop . I can see the issue was apparently resolved in 2019 and again in 2020 - has any one got any info on this currently ?

This happens now and then. And I can confirm that the total views counter is currently stuck for several days on my end too.
I speculate that it proabably takes quite a bit of computer power to make these totals for 150+ million Local Guides. And if there are more urgent jobs for the servers we just get pushed back and have to wait.
The longest dryspel was about 3 weeks as far as I remember.
It will update we just don’t know when.

As @MortenCopenhagen said, the counter update have low priority, compared with other possible issues. However, you will not loose views, so I cannot consider this as an issue.
Talking about issue, I see you take beautiful photos, so please avoid to post the same photo in more than a place. This would be a real issue for you, because this is against the rules, and it would be very bad to be penalised for that reason.

Hi Ernest thanks for the advise, If I have double posted a pic its because there are multiple businesses in that same location/building. Do you suggest changing each pic slightly? I just wanted to make sure whomever searched for a particular business in that building would be able to clearly see the building with the directory showing and not miss out.

You need to add a separate picture for each business showcasing only that business @Johnsy05 as @ErmesT has said posting the same images to multiple places will lead to at best the images not being visible and at worst suspension.

I know what you are trying to do, @Johnsy05 , but it is not necessary.
Also it is not necessary to “change each pic slightly”. Just add photos that clearly represent the business, let Google Maps do the rest of the work.
First of all, I’ve tried to find your photo of “Flowers on Queen St”. It is very close to the last position, so it will be hard for a user to find it. That photo will not give you a lot of views, will only put your account at risk.
If someone wants to know how the building/mall/shopping area looks like, they just need to click on the “Street View & 360°” tab in the Photos section of the listing. Here below an example, starting from your first duplicate.
In addition, when a business is located within another business, Google Maps will provide this information too
I wrote a post just about that function: Local Guides Tips: How to add “Located Within” in Google Maps . One of the scope of the post was to avoid to post the same photo in multiple locations, as it is forbidden by the rules.
"From Community policy :
- “Take photos that clearly and accurately represent a location …**”
- “Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, … will also be removed.”
Hope this will clarify your doubt.
Regarding the subject of the post, the trend page in my previous reply will show you the status of the counter. Don’t worry about that number, once updated you will be able to see how much your views jumped in a few days

A small tip for your future posts in the community: When you want to respond to someone, please use @ to tag the person you are talking with.
In this way we will receive a notification.
As you can immagine, the Local guides that are active in the community receive a lot of notifications about “userxxx replied to topic …”, so most of the time we skip them. But for sure we will come if “userxxx @mentioned you in …”
