In some of my posts, I can see the thumbnails of the photos I took myself, but when we click on the photo, a black screen appears with the message: “Images may be subject to copyright.”
If I view the same review on the Maps app, it shows the message: “Your upload is pending.”
This particular post is from 13 hours ago, but I have images that have been like this for months. I deleted and re-uploaded them, and they were fine for a few hours, but after some time, the same issue occurred.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? Is it possible to contact Google to try to “resolve” this type of conflict?
Hello @DOUGLASAKIRA,
the important message is “Your upload is pending.”. All reviews, photos and videos we post, are checked by an AI filter not only for obeying the rules but also for potential SPAM or false information. For photos and videos attached to a review, all of them need to be approved before the review is published. While this is usually a matter of a few minutes for photos, it can take a day or more for any video. At the meantime you will see “Your upload is pending.”.
Looking at the first link you provided, I noticed, you have 50 photos attached! This is a a high number and will increase the time needed to be approved. Besides that, I saw many redundant pictures, which may increase the possibility to be rejected.
Your review of the second link is not published yet. So I suggest, to verify how many photos and videos you did upload and possibly remove some or all of them.
According to my opinion, 50 photos for a single review, is way to much! Not sure though, if that influences the way the AI filter decides to reject or accept your review.
Hello @DOUGLASAKIRA. I noticed that you have several duplicate photos. AI can help detect these, and you might consider removing them and not uploading them again. Best regards.
Hi @DOUGLASAKIRA
The black screen means that the image is not completely uploaded, or the image has been made private (visible only to you) by the filter.
In fact 10% of the images you uploaded are private and, as mentioned by @mrhang , several are duplicates or very similar. In fact this is a violation of the policies, and can be the reason why several of your photos aren’t visible.
10 of your reviews are not visible too.
Like @WilfriedB said, if one of the element of the reviews is filtered the whole content will be made private.
The message about the copyright is a standard message by Google Maps to indicate the ownership of the photos
