Hi, I am Jennifer Tang from Malaysia. I have been active being a Google Local Guide in the past 10 years posting pictures I take around the world when I travel. I have traveled to more than 1300 places in more than 200 cities in 50 over countries in the past 10 years. I have posted more than 7000 pictures and got a total viewing of more than 13 million.
I am truly glad that I am part of the world map contributors. I personally use Google map a lot in my travel planning. I will drop myself onto the street and look around before I go there. I will also look at the photos of places I plan on going and read the reviews of them. They have helped me tremendously. I will contribute when I go there and try to give some better pictures of what’s missing. For example, menu and the interior settings of restaurants. One would find it useful to be able to see the menu beforehand and know what food are offered at what price.
One would also be able to see if the ambiance is suitable for celebrations or not.
I also try my best to answer questions that popped out. I travel a lot with my parents who would prefer places with lifts and sometimes Google map photos help when I spot the lift picture. This is just one of the points. Any information on venues are helpful in one way or another to different travelers. One may want to know if the hotel has gym or bath tub etc. Or if there is any lockers for baggage at the airport.
I will also review places that I find worthy of mention with photos included as I, myself depend a lot on reviews by people who had been to these places and make my travel decisions based on them.
I am sure my photos, reviews, information fed and some input of new venues have helped some people in some ways. I have applied to attend the Google Connect 2019 in hoping to learn more about how I can contribute more in other ways from other local guides around the world.
