In honor of Pride Month, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some amazing photos we found on Google Maps of rainbow crosswalks shot by Local Guides around the world.
Have you ever visited or reviewed a rainbow crosswalk like the ones mentioned above? We’d love to hear your stories and see your photos in the comments below.
How interesting! I’ve seen lots of crosswalks in my travels, and some very interesting ones in particular I think in Poland (must do some searching) and some rather very interesting and animated local officials, personalities and tourist attractions in their own right, managing traffic at one or two of them. However, I just cannot recall seeing any rainbow types @KatieMcBroom . Now that you’ve brought these to my attention I will take more note!
I love these! They are so colourful and I love how much they cheer up the streets, and of course the great meaning they have.
I was able to visit the Rainbow Crosswalk in The Castro, San Francisco last year! But I hope to be able to visit more of these, they all look really pretty.
I don’t have any idea of this concept. This is very new to me and it is the reason that I love connect forum. To know the world more. Thanks @KatieMcBroom for sharing this lovely pictures and enriched my knowledge.
@KatieMcBroom I love these photos. I remember my first time seeing the rainbow crosswalks in Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington. The events that led to it being re-established as CHOP this past month did a lot of damage to the crosswalks and it was heartbreaking. Since peace was re-established, it’s been inspiring to see the community there band together to repair them, in addition to setting up street-side plywood art galleries covered in the most beautiful work.
