Photos don't show in exact location

Hi,

I have added around 350 photos to maps now, and have now realized that a lot of the nature photos I have taken are not showing up in their exact location by the GPS, but only on the page of the national park. This also included some photos of the village I live in, which is where I first noticed it as the village is part of the national park (technically it’s excluded from it, but Maps has it inside). I uploaded them through the Google Maps app, and the location is also correct when viewed in Google Photos.
Is that an intentional feature, or am I doing something wrong? I’d love to have my photos show up in the exact location they are taken in, especially for the ones of the village we live in.

Dont know if this will work but try clicking on each photo then flag them as appropriate either not a photo of this place or misclassification. Will tag a moderator for further assistance @Bobiisha .

Hello @wulkanat

Although you have added photos through the Maps app, it’s important to know the route selected for that.

If you choose the “Add photo” option, then Maps leaves the choice to you to select a correct place.

The identification in Google photos can be approximate and may get altered while posting.

The other appropriate option of doing that through “Contribute now” is facing some glitches for some days and is not working in an anticipated way.

That returns a message “You are all caught up” which incorrect.

If your contribution is new, you can delete the photos appearing at the wrong places and post those again choosing a correct place through the drop-down menu “Select a place” appearing at top. There will be some loss in a number of views. However, that would be insignificant.

Hey @wulkanat ,

Thanks for reaching out to us and @SholaIB , thanks for the tag as well!

I just wanted to let you know that I am moving your post to our How-tos board, used by Local Guides to express their doubts and ask such questions. I am also accepting @C_T 's comment as a solution since he provided you the information needed when it comes to uploading a photo on Google Maps and also suggested how to solve the situation. Please let me know the outcome.
