Ordinarily I would be out taking photos away from my home, trying to find beautiful locations and interesting areas. Right now in Australia we’re in lock down level 1. This means that unless you need to be out - stay home. I’ve got a house with a reasonably sized corner block, but honestly it is nothing too special. However now being stuck on this block, I’ve been exploring the yard, plants and even weeds for photography and plant identification activities.
Google Lens has been really fun and informative to use to try and identify all the little weeds and insects, and even fungi!
To use the google lens, download the Google Lens app from the app store. If you have a Google pixel phone like me, it will already be installed.
Then all you need to do is take a photo, click the icon and away you go!
It’s great that you take your time to capture photos. I liked a lot the first one with the mushrooms. Can you share more about Google Lens? Which kind of settings does it have? I’ve never used it but I would like to try.
The Google lens feature is designed to search the web for any similar or matching photos - so as long as your photo is clear, not too busy (eg only has one main subject in the frame) it will pick it up and identify what you’ve taken a photo of.
It can be used for anything really, but as I’m really interested in plants and insects, I use it to assist in identifying species that I am not familiar with!
