Photography: Do we actually require a DSLR? Is editing the pictures mandatory?

1st Part

Photography doesn’t require a DSLR, as nowadays mobile cameras in several mobile phones are available with capabilities almost at par of any DSLR. To click pictures you just need to have a knack of imagining a scene which you see with your eyes as a frame.

I use Samsung J7 OnPrime to click pictures, also I will attach some pictures with before/after editing comparison for the viewers. I use Adobe Lightroom CC free mobile app to edit my photos. It is very easy to use also easy to learn you can just learn by trial and error method. Another good editing app is Snapseed.

Follow any professional or rising photographer, fashion blogger, lifestyle blogger, travel blogger or any photo content creator on Instagram, you will get to learn various things from them like professionalism, types of photographs, currents among the photographers but don’t get disheartened by seeing them using high-end technologies to click pictures. You can do it too, on your smartphone.

2nd Part

Now the question “Is editing a photo really required?” “Editing degrades the beauty of photo!!”

1. Let me tell you that editing is used to enhance the “Subject” you have chosen to present in your picture. The colours in the photo you click sometimes hide under excess light. It is very important to present the picture as you have seen it from your eyes. The eyes capture the colour but the camera fails to do so. For example below is a picture captured by me against the sunlight in the morning (before and after editing)

2. Editing is also used to create a contrasting two colour effect like a picture divided into two colours like Tilan orange and blue or Red and Blue or pink and blue like Tower crane photo
   

3. Sometimes you click a picture that contains some unnecessary or extra elements. Maintaining symmetry of the structures appearing in the photo is also another very important aspect of photo editing. The editing apps enable you to rotate, crop or flip your image. Tower crane symmetry
