I have Google Maps 6.91.1 for iPhone.
When I try to upload a photo for a place/restaurant I have a problem. I hit add photo and it takes me to my photo gallery… and all my photos show up EXCEPT for the photo of the place that I’m trying to add. It’s like it is some how filtering out the one photo I’m try to upload based on location data of the photo. Anyone else experiencing this?
Hello @dezcel , after the last update, iPhone offers sharing options for photos. All, limited. I think the problem you are having is not selecting the all option. If you select permission and all from the photos settings, you can see all your photos.
I don’t think that’s the problem. Google Maps has “Full Access” to photos. Like I mentioned, Maps will allow me to add a photos…it just doesn’t allow me to add the photo I want to add.
Please share the exact steps and screenshots. There are a lot of different ways to add photos, so please show all steps in Maps.

I am sharing my experience here
I try to upload a photo for the selected place as follows
Explore > Select a place > Photos > Add photos, it’s taking me to My photos Album where all photos show up EXCEPT the photo of the selected place; This is happening many times and unable to up load the photo. The photo I am trying to upload is normal photo with out any editing and quality also same like other photos. It’s happening many times and I am unable to upload some photos. Not able to find the reasons behind this. Please help.

Could you please check if tapping Albums and then See all gives you access to the photos:
Do you have Google Photos installed also? If so, please try sharing the photo directly from Google Photos to Google Maps.
Alternatively, try sharing the photo(s) directly from your Photos (Gallery) app.
It the problem periodic or can it be reproduced again and again across locations on Google Maps?

I have Google photos installed. But system will not allow show up Google photos when doing above procedure.
Alternatively I am following and able to upload photos as per the procedure you discussed “ sharing the photo directly from Google Photos to Google Maps and sharing the photo(s) directly from your Photos (Gallery) app.

Sometimes it happens that after an update (operating system or app) these problems can arise as the Privacy settings are reset.

Maybe they are just “glitches” due to the constant updates in the background of the app: just to give an example, just in recent days, the bio of my Maps profile disappeared for about a week, then it reappeared without me doing anything.

I attempted both suggestions, but unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved.
I am sharing the issue with an example screenshots:

Google Maps > Explore > Select a place [Ganapathi Industries] > Photos > Add photos.

Same thing happened for other locations as well. The photos shot in a particular location are not showing up when trying to upload for that location. Any idea why it’s happening?

Hello @dezcel , you should go to Google Maps from your phone settings. From there you should select the photos option. Then you should click on the full access at the bottom. You may not understand because my phone is Turkish, but did you choose the option at the bottom?
Hello @Gezendunyali , Thank you for stepping in to help. Please note the option ‘ Tam Erisim’ is not shown at the bottom of my mobile, it’s shown in the middle. I understand the meaning of ‘ Tam Erisim’ as ‘ full access’. I am sharing screenshots of my current mobile settings below.

Hi @PrasadVR , from the settings everything seems fine, so it seems like a sporadic bug.
I would also give it a try by deactivate and then activate all the Google Maps access options (classic OFF-ON switch).
You can update iOS to the latest version as reported by @Gezendunyali and see if anything changes.
It almost seems like a “remnant” of the problem on iOS from about a month ago: Problems with picture Upload to Google Maps
In the meantime, thanks to Inas for forwarding the problem to those responsible.
However, I advise you and @dezcel , if you haven’t already done so, to directly forward feedback on what you reported from the Maps app: How to send us feedback in Google Maps . The more feedback they receive for the same problem, the greater the chance that it will be examined quickly.
