… Photo Tips - Camera FILTERS - General Introduction…

Statement: Are filters (External) useful?

My Answer: As of now, YES, many of the conventional (Film Age & Contemporary [Digital]) filters are useful; but, using them, gives a totally different feel than the normal photography, for sure, (as rightly told by our @user_not_found ).

Here is one of my Collections of 82 mm Diameter, (Physical) FILTERS. I use these filters in Sony 7RM2 (42 Megapixel, Full Frame Camera), through Tamaron 24-70 mm, 82 mm Dia Lens. After a general discussion of these filters, we shall try to explain the practical use of the main filters, if LGs are interested.

There are 22 Filters in this Kit. This high performance, filters are gifted to me by a student of mine, from the US (special thanks to him).

IMPORTANT: I have spare time with my Filters and any LG from these area can contact me for using all/ any of these filters; I do have many other filters, which may be useful to few - kindly contact me.

The following 2 Photos shows:

No: 1. The packed Filters for your reference (this is the way it is stored)

No: 2. The 22 filters, displayed for your reference (unfortunately, the yellow filter, just broke, while arranging for this shot; all other are perfectly working – but, you may feel breakage or similar shades in few – will explain, if you need).

No: 3. The following is the Camera with the Filter, ready to be ficed

Starting from the last: Colored Filters:

Colored filters are piece of colored glass, which are placed in front of the camera’s lens. Based on the color of the filter, the camera sees the light – the following 2 pictures give you an idea.

No: 4. The (main) Six colour filters

No: 5. How a white ball looks with an Orange filter (Demo purpose Only)

Hope this may be interesting to you all,

Dear

Hi @TravellerG,

Wow that is a huge collection of filter! I have previously never had much idea about it.

I am in for the further explanation of the separated filters. : ]

Amicalement

I am happy at least, the you asked for further information, dear @sonnyNg ; THANKS. I will definitely publish few more posts and slowly, I would love to conclude posting in this forum, as presently, LG Connect is mostly of causal visitors; very few serious readers, for sure - I have been watching / following different posts and I have arrived at this conclusion.

As I promised, I shall explain few of the above practically useful filters - let us see.

with regards

You are true to a great extend, dear @user_not_found - but this forum & series is for the general information of all LGs - may be that I am wasting my time (!!!)…

For such a comprehensive data, one will end up spending man hours, searching in Google.

Thanks for your personal feelings - appreciate it too,

@TravellerG don’t worry, I also want to post it as soon as possible, but I want it to be perfect as well.

I totally understand your endeavor, @TravellerG.

As the nature of the posts are technical, we could seek for a way to bring it’s examples to be as much understandable as possible, from the first read.

Surely, it will gain momentum and will be largely recognized in time. : ]

Hello @TravellerG thanks for sharing. It’s very helpful article.

Hello @TravellerG

I can understand that you have taken pictures for many years. Color filters and effects filters are also interesting. In particular, your ND filter post will be very important even now digitized. Especially I think it is essential for movie shooting:camera::thinking:
