I fixed all my problems with my photos not showing up by myself by researching everything. My problems were that I posted a photo and it disappeared from my review within the hour. Same situation with the videos and I did not receive any points. My written reviews were fine. It was terrible. I reached out here on local guides and people were very kind to try and help me, however, it was a very daunting time for me because nothing worked. It turns out, I did not have the most current version of Google maps! Now, everything is working fine. It took 2 weeks but I finally figured it out and I’m so very happy now I can post my pics! Hope this helps someone else who is desperate for an answer to this problem.

Same here @MortenCopenhagen and @TravellerG My recent views are not showing, I know they will fix it but it’s disappointing and frustrating and does make you think I don’t want to review anymore .

Very sad to hear this cursing situation.
For me, all uploaded photos are public, if posted from my mobile.
Earlier, even from PC, it used to be public…
Our problem is that if we don’t write our travel reviews (dozens of them are waiting) I tend to forget & the photo also may get outdated.
If you keep writing, then private - public ratio may change & some AI may send us OUT.
Real dilemma…

I have never observed problems with photos going private because they were not attached to a review.
In fact very few of my pics are review photos.
After a long photo walk I just edit my photos and upload them to the relevant places without any reviews. But sometimes a few images never go public. Then I delete them and try again. That solves it for 1 out og 3. Next time I will test if uploading with a review helps.
By the way, it seems that photos uploaded as an update seems to be filtered much less.
