there is a big issue (BUG) in Google Maps for more than 2 month and Google ignores it. Why??
The view all photos tab shown the total count of all photo likes in the past (August 2019). Since then it disappeared.
Any explaination for the community?

The total view count in the “view all photos” is not up to date. The value stucks for many days.
This happens often to Google Maps in the past (I found 5 posts since 2016) and was resolved after 2-3 weeks. Then it worked fine as expected.
But now - this currernt issue - it is since 2,5 month and all moderators ignoring the community. There is no real fix for that issue - till today.
Any explaination for the community?

I like statistics too and ask myself and this community what happens to the Photo like count (photo totes?) - the overall count?
Do you know more? Please inform the developers cuz the community is missing this feature.

Apologies for the belated reply.
Can you please do the following actions:
On desktop, open Google Maps, click on the menu and click on “Your contributions”. Your contributions page will show up, then select the “Photos tab”. On top of your photo contributions you will see all views your photos have in total.
On mobile, open the Google Maps app, click “Your contributions” and then select “Photos”. Let us know if you are flagging something else and please provide a screenshot so we can look into it for you.
P.S.: I am going to merge your post Photo total view count stucks too often with this one, so we can have them together and will move them to the How-tos board, as this would be helpful to fellow Local Guides searching for similar questions.

There ist no need to explain the how to. I already know how to for several years
This two issues are BUGs - two different BUGs
The stuck too often issue seems to be solved since a few dass. Stil a little bit buggy cuz the increase is often (too often) completely wrong.
The issue of this topic remain and is a worse situation. Please inform the development team.

Did you tagged me, or you just copied the link to my profile? I am asking because I did not received any notification about your tag on my feed.
Let me try to understand: You wrote two posts, one about photo views count and the other about photo likes count, and @MoniV merged them. Am I correct?
In the future it would be great if you can add a screenshot on your post, for better understanding the issue you are experiencing. This will help a lot the moderators to identify the issue and respond
Regarding photo count: It is correct that time to time the photo views were frozen. This normally happens when there is some important change that involves many data. It happened also a couple of months ago, but actually I do not have any issue with the views, not in Desktop nor with the App.
Regarding Likes: Likes are visible on the App only. For more than a month likes were not visible for photos, but I can actually see that they are visible, at least on my App.
My conclusion:
Is your Google Maps App updated? In this case, please try to Logout from Google Maps, clear the cache on your Mobile and Login again.
Please remember to tag the person you want to mention by using the @ symbol

In short - I deinstalled the app several times, on several devices. No success. I run the newest available version on all my devices.
Regarding photo count stucks:
The columns are in german. You will see from left to right: date, photo view count (from Maps app), photo count overall, delta per day. You have to believe me, that all data taken every day at almost the same time (the early morning coffee).
As you can easily see: the photo view count stucks often very heavily. This starts in September and is since 10 days a little bit better.
Regarding photo like (or vote) count:
This screenshot shows my missing photo like count. Sort by date. This is since exactly Sep 5th, 2019. Almost the same time, the photo view count oitage starts. Coincident???
An interesting and strange behaviour: The like count was show (completely wrong, but shown) in the “Sort by count”. This is not working with my apps since two days, but on te desktop Maps. This screen shows my app.
Please use all you admin power to investigate whats wrong with my account/app.
BTW: The statistics for local guides are poor. Why?

some updates from my concerns:
sort by views works now
total view count is updating every day for a week now. The change per day seems more or less accurate. Not perfect but good enough
But my main concern doesn’t change: The total like count is still missing and in the View “sort by views” completely wrong.
Whats the status of the investigation?

I notice that I have the same issue as you. It is not only your account that has an issue.
I understand your point but as mentionned previously, the team is working on it. So please , there is no need to put presure on them.
As you have noticed, these situations happened in the past (more than once) and it has always been fixed.

the other Google Moderators mixed up several issues from me. I dont know why!
The first one “total view count stucks” was often in the past and was fixed more or less in three weeks. This time it tooks much longer. Anyway.
The second issue “overall Photo like count disappeared” is completely new and never happend in the past. This issue was reported by me in August 2019. So what do you think how heavy the team is working on this issue???

the sum of all likes is wrong an extreme low
the sum is different regarding the sort order of phots - strange - but both wrong
The problem is still there and the google team had a lot of time to face the issue.
Try to reproduce the issue with your accounts in your apps. you will see the problem very easy and clear. its just an addition missing, that fails since more than 18 month.
why is google not able to handle that issue?

Everyone of us would love to see a correct number for our likes, @TassiloK , however I believe that Google is working on priority, and in the last year (February 20, 2020 was the first day of lock-down in my country) Google Maps had different priorities: Helping Local Businesses, updating the situation in Maps according to the governative closure, focusing the information on the Covid-related issues, creating an interface for giving the possibility to re-open quickly a temporary closed business, to update the information related to the pandemic, dividers in the counters, temperature check, mask use, just to give some example. All this working, like most of us, from home, where the situation is not always easy. They worked hard, like everyone, to fight this pandemic, so I personally forgive them for the not updated count of my likes, and I believe that this is a minor issue. Don’t you agree?
Even if the gamification is an important aspect for many Local Guides, I personally believe that the first scope of Google Maps is to be helpful, and the first scope of the Local Guides program is to help others, following the rules while contributing.
Of course, you are free to have a different opinion
This issue arised in September 2019.
And it is just a sum of integers that worked over years.
So please come not with Corona.
Thats tooooooo big. Google really needs that hammer for explaination?
