Phone tool for 360 photo

Hi everyone,

I am quite new to local guides connect. I have been looking for tips regarding 360 photos, and found great ones. I understand that 360 cameras are the best tool for capturing a 360 photo. But phones are pretty good too. I myself got some good shots using my phone and street view app. But not every photo is a good one. Most of the photos i take aren’t stitched well, hence, a distorted or bad 360 photo comes as a result.

I can’t afford a 360 camera, or 360 gimbal right now. But if there is a cheaper tool that keeps the camera of the phone at the centre of a 360 photo sphere, and turns the phone into a great 360 photo gadget, would be of great help.

I love taking 360 photos, and to me It’s a great opportunity for keeping precious memories, and feelings of a place live.

I have even draw an sketch for making a 3 axis tool that will meet my requirement, but can’t find the right tools for making it.

Please let me know your suggestions.

Hi @tanzilbd

I usually prefer, when I have time, to use my phone for taking photos, because the quality is higher than a standard 360 camera.

I use the same tripod of the 360, in fact a selfie stick with a small tripod on the base . It works fine. You should try

Wow, i didnt think about such a simple idea! A selfy stick on a tripod would easily do the job!

But i have a question for you.

Hou do you mount the selfy stick on a tripod?

(As a perfectionist, i was trying to achieve a flexible/movable design. It would put the camera of a phone that doesn’t have the camera at the middle line of its body, at the centre of a sphere, but your idea works too.)

Well, there are several selfie stick that are ready to be mounted on a base with 3 small legs, @tanzilbd

I will share a photo of mine. Is the same that I use for my ThetaV, just changing the head.
