Phone number change is rejected

Hello @Amiran

This CD Store in Azimieh, Karaj has changed its phone number to 02632543239

I suggested the edit and Google kept rejecting me, it was successfully changed in Balad and Neshan, but Google is always a pain in the ass.

How can i get it changed asap?

Hello @Kia_Faraji

In such a situation, when the phone number of a business had been changed recently, the best practice is to wait a few days/weeks (depending on the place’s popularity) and let the Google smart system index new phone number from the resources around the web, like what you mentioned about local map services, then try to change it on Google Maps.

When old data still remained on Google, the chance of rejection increases, and trying it repetitively makes it even harder!

Anyway, right now (as you already know) you can express this rejection on the Google Maps forum, or you can wait just a few days till I check the place myself and since there is no pending on it, I suggest the related change. Although in this second option again there is no certainty to apply, I’ll try what I can to help.

Thanks @Amiran .

I posted it on google forums, but there is an “off-topic” tag on it now, here’s the photo and link:

Also take a look at this please:

i clicked the overview tab and under “Web Results” i saw websites which have taken their information from Google itself!! and i think Google is referring to them when rejecting my edit! This is a serious problem with Google that someone responsible should be able to do something about it.

Hello again @Kia_Faraji

It is marked as off-topic because the system is very sensitive to phone numbers since previously adding personal phone numbers and advertising caused many problems in the forum.

So I suggest you describe the new phone number with a screenshot.

Also, note that any third-party websites could not be considered references in the forum. The best thing is a link to the official website/social pages of the business or an image of the visit card.

And about the websites using Google data; We know this is illegal if they didn’t request officially for such information to extract from Google. Because of this Google’s legal team checks such issues continuously and takes action if needed. There are lots of ongoing cases. Currently, I’m not sure about Zaubee and Biz South Asia, Maybe @MortenCopenhagen could inform Googlers in this case. But this is related to Google.

What is related to this topic is about reading data from those websites. Those are also effective but aren’t all! The smart system read data from all over the internet. Right now, even changes in Neshan and Balad didn’t index very well yet but it is going to be stabled soon. You know the Google indexing system (and many all other changes by Google) is a crawling process. So it takes time for new changes to be indexed well. Just let the system understand the changes.

I can’t guess what website you think has copied data from Google search. If you provide the needed examples and links I will be happy to try to escalate this.

Cheers

@MortenCopenhagen I mentioned their names (Zaubee and Biz South Asia) those are visible in the screenshots by @Kia_Faraji

But I didn’t want to add their links here on Connect to prevent from considering as ads or sth like.
