What’s more frustrating for a Local Guide than arriving at a Location only to discover that he doesn’t have any Camera to take pictures to post to Google Maps or to Connect?
i remember visiting Suntan Beach in March, 2020 and returning home disappointed as the journey turned out to be longer than I had envisaged and the Camera on my previous phone could not take sharp pictures under the conditions I met when I arrived there.
THE UPGRADE THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO GIVE A 5-STAR
Have you ever gotten a new device/gadget (phone, Computer, camera, even an automobile) that was an upgrade from your last one and there was just something, that one thing, that made you immediately get up and feel like reviewing that business and giving them a 5-star?
I know in your mind you are preparing to burst into laughter, but I promise this isn’t funny!
NIGERIA’S ELECTRICAL POWER CHALLENGES
One of the challenges we encounter in Nigeria is epileptic Power supply.
I mean; it is so bad that; in a house of four people, each person will have his or her own generating set!
Because of the issue of this epileptic power supply, most of the ‘Chargers’ that come with our phones don’t last! It’s like these Chargers are not durable or something like that but the manufacturers did not figure Nigeria’s electrical power problem into account while making their devices.
I mean these Phones were made in places where 230-240V was 230-240V and 110V was 110V, what’s with Nigeria?
I mean; you could set up a business selling only ‘replacement parts of phones and accessories’ and you will never go hungry in Nigeria, in fact, you will build mansions and take long trips around the world!
It’s a Perennial Problem!
THE SOLUTION - PHONE DESIGN AND WARRANTY
However, there is one particular company that does a great job of making chargers that suit the Nigerian epileptic power condition. But you know why your charger will not last if you buy a Phone from this Company? The people that will come to ‘borrow’ your charger!
I guess this beautiful company heard their customers’ cries in Nigeria and finally decided to eliminate the ‘USB option’ What a relief?!
I was making a post on Connect this afternoon when my Aunt came around to use my charger, as I pleaded with her; “it won’t fit”, she paid no heed until she realized. The satisfaction
MESSAGE TO MY PHONE MANUFACTURER
Please tell Sam that he has done a great job this time! The song I sung with delight in my heart he will hear!
ON A FINAL NOTE
The President that fixesNigeria’s problem of epileptic power supply will be immortalized, but he will need to ‘battle a lot of powers’ because some people have built a source of livelihood around ‘Phone accessories, replacement parts and Power-Generating Plants’.
Has an upgrade on a ‘new gadget’ ever made you feel this happy?
Now, I can practise all that @PaulPavlinovich teaches me in peace! I will be looking out for that; “made for Africa” on my next Camera too. I am sure at the end of three classes more, I will be able to finally make up my mind on the one I will like to buy. Yipeee!
