Hello… well I was thinking about how to write my post of application to CL2020 and What really Local Guides mean to me…
And then, I have been reviewing carefully all the past time, first only contributing alone and trying to figure out what Local Guides Connect is and, finally, contributing with the real knowledge of the Local Guide task, and being part of this amazing Worldwide Ecosystem, so It can be resume in three questions that over time were transformed into truly affirmations:

Personal Growth
At the first time as Local Guides we all enjoy very much, making useful reviews and adding gorgeous pics of lovely food, amazing landscapes and yummy drinks of the places you visit… but what about going a bit ahead for example, making a list of restaurants specially for people with food allergy problem or a list of NGO of your city to encourage to collaborate, or add items of accessibility in the former reviews or take seriously the edition of the map, in order to make it the cleanest as possible…
One of the most useful reviews and pics that I took was for Gout Gluten Free Rosario , my review helps to find a real gourmet place , with the yummiest variety of gluten free products.
Beside this, I’m very proud cause my photo shows in in the cover of the POI.
This means Personal Growth for me and I think that means the same for many Local Guides around the world…. What do you think?
Help Reference
Yes yes, the reality is that with the passage of time, one slowly becomes a referent help, first in the intimate circles of friendship and then in the family.
To whom it has not happened that a weekend a close friend or relative has consulted -
-As you are a Google Local Guide, please advise me where I can go to have lunch tonight, or
-Next week I have to visit such a city, or
-In which hotel should I stay? or
-If I bring my pet, could I stay in this place?
Today with the following feature of certain local guides, a very interesting improvement in their profiles , being a Help Reference becomes more and more important.
Learn and Teach
Eehhh … I think that more than a Forum where Local Guides from all over the world are concentrated to share tips, discoveries and news for people on Google Maps, LGC should be baptized as the great encyclopedia of knowledge, help people and the environment , and human relations.
The amount of rich information in all these points that circulates day by day is surprising.
You learn when you starts and continually an infinite number of topics, related to the other Local Guides life and customs, creating genuine chains of collaboration, meet-ups and reunions, creating human relationships, which are rarely seen in other areas.
All that information learned, sooner or later, you has to transmit it to newcomers, always following the same goal: collaborate with others.
I know that we still have tons of new things to learn and discover, so this is the biggest challenge.
Having said that, I would like to hear your Local Guide Voice on the comments below and tell me if you feel something like I have described.
