Perseids Meteor shower in the Judean Desert 2024

I have a deep love for meteor showers and an even deeper love for the desert!
This season is always a special time for me, as I get to combine both passions and experience the magic of desert nights illuminated by a spectacular show in the sky.

Every year, I make it a point to explore different spots, but KFAR HANOKDIM has become my go-to base, especially during their incredible Meteors Festival that takes place every weekend during the meteor shower season.

The Perseids meteor shower, which runs from July 14 to September 1, reaches its peak around August 12. So, naturally, I grabbed a few friends and headed out to one of my favorite desert activities: stargazing.

We spent several hours marveling at the night sky, capturing some beautiful photos along the way.
But honestly, no photo or description can truly capture the magic of seeing a “falling star” streak across the sky.

One of the reasons I cherish this time is that it gives me a chance to make countless wishes. However, this year, my heart and thoughts were focused on just a few: wishing for the safe return of my kidnapped friends and an end to the war. :pensive:

I hope these photos convey just a bit of the awe and wonder of the experience. :sparkles:

@JoniG

Thanx @TusharSuradkar
I am glad you liked it. There are 3 photos with the Milky way. The first one with me in in (Pointing sounth) and then 2 others with the description. I wonder which one was your favorite? :slightly_smiling_face:
