Perks

Hi,

I’ve been a local guide for some time now (a year approximately) and yet I have not been offered any perks. I am signed up for them but none seem to come.

I like to post my photos and help others but beginning to lose interest as no perks have been offered.

Can anybody help?

Hi @user_not_found , I personally don’t know the criteria used by Google to select Local Guides for Perks recognition (sorry to not be helpful on this question) and I understand that It could be frustrating not receiving any Perks despite the great contribution. On the other side, I strongly encourage you to keep your passion for being a great Local Guide as you surely are. I always think to the priceless support that our contributions on Google Maps may give to other people to make their lives (and ours) EASIER. Last but not least being Local Guide can give the opportunity to be connected all together on this forum, sharing our stories, new ideas and learn more from other passionate Local Guides. This is to me the best Perk ever received. Sorry for my long reply. All the best, Giuseppe

Hello @user_not_found ,

Thank you for posting your question here. In addition to what @Giuseppe75 said above, I’m quoting from a good explainer by a Googler. You can read the full post here.

Perks are offered to Local Guides from time to time as a thank you for contributing great content on Google Maps. You may receive a perk because you’ve consistently shared high-quality contributions, reached a certain level, or often review a category related to a perk. Perks may be offered to Local Guides in particular regions. To see where you are signed up for Local Guides, please visit your Local Guides settings**.

Hi @user_not_found ,

Please be informed that from time to time, there are perks available and it will vary from time to time and from region to region. It depends on who the Google partners are. There may also be special and/or early access to Google features. You can read more about it on the official support page found here.

You can also read a bit about this on this page “Why be a Local Guide?”.
