Hi, I’m new to trying to find perks. I’m a level 6 and have been for a long time. I only recall getting an email once ages ago for a perk but didn’t redeem it because it was a membership or something I wasn’t interested in. Can you only get perks they send you an email for? How often do you earn perks? I’m really interested in one specific perk, the socks and want to know what I need to do to earn them. Please help? I also saw there was once a tshirt for people who did a certain amount or something within a year? Is that still a thing? If it is and I qualified, how do I get it?

@ssgra Local Guides is a voluntary program with no financial reward. However, once a while, there could be small perks provided to help motivate contributors. Sometimes perks could be announced in LG Connect, and usually nowadays announced through email.
To check/set email notification for perks, contributions, product updates etc, head to https://maps.google.com/localguides/home/settings
And you can have a look at this post also which many of the current/previous perks are listed, you can check the details under each link and note the expiry/end date of each
And, there are always Local Guides achievement badges to be obtained and unlocked.

Oh I wasn’t looking for a financial reward. I just saw some socks someone got and wanted to know how to earn them and with what frequency we can earn things. I’m a level 6 currently and have only recieved a notification email for one perk and it was a pretty weak one.

It is true what @StephenAbraham had mentioned, in addition to that if you have any idea that you about perks or anything else that you think can improve our program, do not hesitate to share it with us in the Idea Exchange section.
Before suggesting an idea be sure to check if there is any similar idea that had been suggested to avoid duplicates.
