So, I have received an e-mail saying I was selected for a 4-day city trip with Google Local Guides.
Now, of course, I’m super super excited! But I’m also cautious since I can’t find any other info about it and it seems to be a very big perk compared to what I’ve seen shared before. Can anyone help me with confirming this is real?
And if so, if any of the other 19 people selected read this, please get in touch because I’d love to chat before the trip actually happens

Read carefully what you need to do to be selected: the fact that you have received the email gives you the right to participate in the selection!

What @davidhyno said is correct. You were invited to apply for Connect Live 2019, where 200 Local Guides, selected between the ones that applied, will be invited to attend to the event.

Thanks! Sorry for the confusion, but it’s definitely NOT Connect. I’ve gotten that one too, but this is about a trip that I don’t have to do anything extra for and says that 20 Local Guides have been selected for the first time.
Looking at the email, it all looks very legit, but I just want to be sure because it definitely feels too good to be true.

That is correct. But the fact is, the invitation was for applying for the trip. After your application, they will judge and select participants for this trip. No worries continue your good work in the google maps and stay connected in the LG connect.
