Penyetan : Authentic Javanese Traditional Dish

[REDACTED]

Actually, what is the meaning of Penyet itself??
The word ‘Penyet’ comes from the Javanese language meaning pulverized.
Why pulverized?? Because the side dish will be crushed with sambal (re: chili sauce) before being served.

Penyetan is a traditional food with a reasonably affordable price, easy to make it and unique smell from special seasoning, we called it Terasi. Penyetan is an authentic dish from Indonesia precisely from East Java. Almost every part of East Java, there are some types of Penyetan and it is not only sold in street food traders even restaurants sell it. Penyetan is consumed by Indonesian and this food has a unique flavor. Almost all over Indonesia now already sells Penyetan. It’s usually made with terasi mixed with chili, tomatoes and salt. All those ingredients are stirred in a traditional container. In Java, we called it Cowek or Ulekan. Penyetan was served with fresh vegetables like cucumber, cabbage and basil leaves. some types of penyetan are chicken, duck, tofu, tempe, and catfish. Usually street food traders sell it at night (7 p.m to 11 p.m). Many people thought that this food was very spicy because Indonesian loved spicy.

Trust me, you must taste it because it has rich flavor in side dish and sambal. You guys, had not came to Java if you had not taste Penyetan. (just kidding!) One more thing, you can find it near of campus. usually they sold it nearby. I will tell you some famous places to find out penyetan in Surabaya (from various sources)

Hello @dimaswijaya55 You might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

One other question: are all of the pictures you used your own pictures, where you have the copyright? Also the ones with the watermarks? If yes: great pictures! If not, please remove those from your post.

hello mr @JanVanHaver thank you for your suggestion. I have edited some part in this story. once again, thank you for reminding me

Wah, penyetan! Salah satu kudapan favorit saya, Mas @dimaswijaya55

Thank you for taking action so swiftly @dimaswijaya55 , but I’m not sure that you understood completely what I meant: the only pictures you can use in things you publish on Connenct (and in fact on the internet in general) are pictures where you have the copyright: pictures that you have taken yourself or pictures where you have the explicit permission of the copyright holder to use them. So just searching on Google and taking whatever you find (as is my interpretation of the ‘source: Google’ captions you have added) is not what you should do, as this is in most case a copyright violation.
