I have to say that Peggy’s Cove, a small fishing village located on the eastern shore of St. Margarets Bay in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, is one of the most beautiful places that I’ve ever visited. As well as being a quaint fishing village, it has a historical lighthouse on the point, and is a favorite tourist destination. In the video below you’ll see what I mean with many tourist flocking to the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove.
I’d love to know if any other Local Guide has been to this beautiful place.
Thank you @Onkar_Pandhare . Yes it is a beautiful place. I took many photos but only added a couple and with these tried to show contrasting aspects of the place. Most tourists seemed to flock to the lighthouse as you can see in the second photo but somehow I was drawn more to the small cove with some local fishing boats. Based on your comment I’ll add a video I took of the place and hope you like it. Just give me a few minutes to work out how I do this.
Amazing how small fishing villages have their of mystic atmosphere. I was once in a coastal town called Norden in northern part of Germany. It was autumn. I had the feeling to belong there after 3 days. The dark foggy sea had it’s very own myth which drags you in it @AdamGT
You have described these beautiful quaint fishing villages so eloquently. As I mentioned in the post, hundreds of tourists flock to the lighthouse, but to my mind they missed what the real attraction of Peggy’s Cove is.
Exactly @JacobLED . While the “swarm” of tourists were adoring the lighthouse, I had the crown in the jewel, the fishing village, all to myself I took what seemed like a countless number of photos there and when I finished I wandered over and took the one video of the lighthouse and that swarm! Don’t get me wrong, the lighthouse and the setting that it’s in on massive rocks right on the coast is beautiful, but not as beautiful as the quaint tranquil cove itself.
@AdamGT what a beautiful place. I have been living in Canada for many years but never been to this place. I am hoping to visit friends there this summer… I hope things get better.
