Past CL2019 Event: The Tech

In November, San Jose (CA) will host for the very first time the “Connect Live 2019”. Some of the 200 Connect Live attendees (lucky me I am one of them) will arrive early in San Jose interested in attending past events to socialize with each other. Different from San Francisco (where the past three CL took place), San Jose, is not known as a touristic city, but still have a lot of places to explore, like The Tech Interactive, or just “The Tech”, a place where technology and creativity walk side by side. I’m proposing this Meet Up as a way to allow Connect Live attendees and other Local Guides to visit this place and also to socialize with each other, and learn from each other. It’ll be also a great opportunity for LG’s review the place and add photos and videos in Google Maps to tell people about what expect about The Tech and the city of San Jose and also share about this visit in Local Guides Connect, from different perspectives. Do you like science, innovation, creativity, robot and wish to learn more about new technologies? Join this Brazilian Guide in this meetup and let’s explore together The Tech permanent and temporary exhibits, and also their amazing experiences. Starting Point: Meet 09:45 AM, at San Jose Marriot Lobby, to walk about 10 minutes to The Tech. Alternatively, we can meet at 10 AM in front of The Tech Box Office. General admission ticket prices Adult $25 / Senior $20 / Student $20 / Child $20

I would have absolutely loved to do this activity! I’m not arriving until the 12th at 12:49 PM, so I will just make it to the opening meeting of Connect Live! Unfortunately I am leaving on the 15th at 4:05 PM, so I won’t be able to attend any activities outside of the Connect Live scheduled days :cry:I’m just so excited for the Summit, that’s all I really need though :grinning:

I see @lynneannec . It’d be great having you in this meetup, but I know that most people are going just for the days of our summit. But I’m looking forward to meeting you in CL. I’ve read your text about being a “senior Local Guide” and it has inspired me so much. :slight_smile:

Based on Adrian spreadsheet, I checked that you guys will be in San Jose on Monday, 11th. If you don’t have other plans, check out this meet up. The Tech looks like an amazing place and it’d be good icebreaker pre-CL2019.

I’m not sure yet when exactly I will arrive in San Jose, as I plan to travel from SF on Monday morning @AlexandreCampbell

Sure @AdrianLunsong , that could work. I was indeed planning a trip by train. I definitely want to be there in time for the 36 Walk - apart from that it’s still a bit too early to say.

I am sure people are still waiting for their visas / ESTAs to get approved before they can commit to anything
