Hello Friends. Some months ago I visited one of the historical temple in Madhya Pradesh which is located at the Banks of river Shivana in the city of Mandsaur.
Yes I am talking about Pashupatinath Temple Mandsaur.
Before telling about the Temple first I will share some knowledge about the Mandsaur city.
Mandsaur is a famous city in the Indian State Madhya Pradesh whose name was derived from the name of Ravan’s wife Mandodari. It is believed that Ravan is the son in law of Mandsaur. Therefore on Dusshera no Ravan Dahan program is organised in Mandsaur instead of Dahan they pray for Ravan. Mandsaur is also known as Dashpur because this city was a group of ten villages.
Now I will talk about the Pashupatinath Temple.
There was a story behind the Pashupatinath Temple.
Once upon a time there was a washerman named Udaji who found an Asthamukhi Shivalinga nearby river Shivana.
This shivalang was quite similar to the Pashupatinath Shivalinga in Kathmandu Nepal. From that day the Ashtamukhi Shivalinga was known as Pashupatinath. It was believed that the Shivalinga is of Gupta period.
I was visited this temple in the Shravana Month. That time there was a huge crowd in the temple.
Nearby temple there is Shivana River which gets originated from Rajasthan and then flowing through Mandsaur it confluences in the Chambal River.
The river got its name Shivana because of this temple only. Because in the every monsoon the level of this river gets so high that this river does the Abhishek of the Ashtamukhi Shivalinga.
So this was about Pashupatinath Temple Mandsaur. I hope you all have enjoyed it.
If anybody who is from Mandsaur please reply me and let me no further my knowledge is right or there are some changes apart from this knowledge.
So Thank you .
And please also suggest me some places on which I should post like this.
