PARMA STREET FOOD Festival

This weekend, the beautiful Parco Ducale in my city Parma , Italy was guesting one of the most important event organized in spring and called “Parma Street Food festivals”.

The festival is organized every year (in different areas of the city) and attracts visitors from all over the region Emilia Romagna (Italy)

Funny shows, concerts and the best food trucks join this unique " food rally" to propose their italian and international specialities for the joy of kids and adults.

Most of the weekend the weather was not so nice (raining most of the time) but at least on Friday evening we were lucky to enjoy as much we could the happy atmosphere with a delcious sandwich, a glass of craft beer and good pop music.

Hello @Julien44 , thank you for your appreciation. Yes this is a big event in Parma and you can imagine the happiness of all kids (and adult) choosing their favorite finger foods or delicious cake. The lovely aspect is that you may enjoy music and shows around the beautiful section of the bigger Parc of the city. You are more than welcome in Parma and you might have heard about the past influence of French and Marie Louise. Have a great weekend (hopefully for you with the sun):sun_with_face:

Unfortunatly, history is not what I am good at! I don’t know about the frend and Marie Louise influence. Please tell me more!

@Julien44 , It would be my pleasure to have the possibility to meet you and your family.

I was born in South of Italy (Brindisi, Italy but Parma has become my city of adoption and I love so much living here (now since 1995😊).

Some history notes :

Marie-Louise of Austria, who was married to Napoleon, was Duchess of Parma. From then on, between the city and France, there has always been a very strong link. Architecturally, Parma looks a little like Paris with the river PO (torrente Parma) crossing the city. In the past people liked to call Parma with the nickname: “Little Paris”. Even the local language (dialect) has similar expressions with French. Especially in spring and summer around the many restaurants or monuments of the old town it’s easy to meet French tourists that stop here to visit the nice monuments and taste the Local food specialities that you may have read in my post:wink: hope I gave some idea about Parma and thank you so much for asking me about it. Keep in touch :+1:

Hi @Giuseppe75 ,

Thanks a lot for the nice post and for letting me know!

This festival looks amazing and the food that you tried there. Is it organized every year? I’ve attended only one time beer event when I visited Germany. There was a bike with beer and the people were driving the bike while drinking beer. For me it was very interesting and funny because in my country we don’t have such events.

Hi @PoliMC ,

Thank you so much for your appreciation of my post and for sharing with us your funny experience during the beer event in Germany.

Yes, the Parma Street Food Festival is now organized every year and I heard that in 2020 will be even bigger and will offer more additional events for the fun of adults and children.

As Parma’s citizen I feel a bit proud because Parma, Italy has taken the title of Italy’s Capital of Culture 2020, in a final that also featured many other beautiful Italian cities like Agrigento (Sicily, Italy), Reggio Emilia (Italy) and the amazing Treviso that our moderator @ErmesT knows very well

I let you imagine how many tourists will visit Parma in 2020 and along the year there will be so many cultural and culinary events that will represent the most beautiful showcase for this beautiful city.

I am thinking that there will be no better occasion for me to organize next year a big meet up in Parma

Thank you for the post, and for the tag @Giuseppe75

Fortunately I will go for lunch in a few minutes, as this is quite hard to read with hunger  LOL

I am always available for events about food (or wine)

Hi @Giuseppe75 ,

Thanks a lot for your reply!

That sounds great! If there are more such events, you can share with us them here and to include a lot of photos and description!

I’ve been in Bulgaria only on a Chocolate fest and on a Wine fest, but unfortunately have not so many photos from there.

Haha @Giuseppe75 , @PoliMC

I heard someone mentioning “chocolate Festival”. My bad, I had to write a post about Chocolate festival in Treviso, and I forgot it, as it was very close to Connect Live 2018 :frowning:

I will remedy, I promise, but in the meantime, what about Tiramisù Day?

wow @PoliMC ,

Thanks a lot for sharing with us your photo.

Just looking at it we understand how delicious are these chocolates.

The first chocolate on the right with hazelnut pralines seems to ask "eat me" very orignal the small wooden box as well.

Hi @Giuseppe75 ,

You are welcome and thanks for the reply!

Yeah, the wooden box is very cute and it attracted me to buy it. But I prefered the white chocolate praline because it’s my favourite. There were also a lot of chocolate fountains. One of my friend has such fountain and we gather sometimes to eat from it and that’s the best time for me.
