ParkView & PhotoSnake

Do you know why Google Maps is so amazing? Because they satisfy curiosity and intensify and take people where they can not reach.

Google Maps has changed the world by giving the opportunity to put photos on its maps. Thanks to this, everyone from every corner of the world could view every place around the world.

When Google’s car appeared and showed the streets meter by meter, the world changed again. These walks satisfy the world’s curiosity. They let you feel a little of climate of places where Google Maps takes you.

How many times have I walked Google Maps through the streets of a city and I was curious about something that was “sideways” from the street. Unfortunately, Google car can’t get everywhere but … these places are often the essence of the area … and it is curiosity that increases.

Last year I discovered that I was able to change it.

360 cameras and the Street View application have given me the opportunity to take people on Google Maps for walks to extraordinary places … city parks that are basically inaccessible to Google’s car. They are full of mysterious places, passages, corners, bridges and structures. Amazing plants, ponds, and rivers change at any time of the year or day. Every resident has their favorite place, alley and bench, and most have many good memories … just like me.

That’s why I decided to do Google Maps walks all the parks of my city … create such ParkView around Wroclaw.

I searched, read and found out that there are 44 of them !!!

After the first attempts, it turned out that to take a walk around one whole park, I need 3-10 trips and that it is best to take pictures on Saturday or Sunday mornings, when I have time for it and when there are no crowds of people. So … one park requires about 1-3 months … well, the weather must be pretty, which is not easy in Poland!

So to start with, I decided to focus on those closest to me, in my neighborhood.

There are 3 of them. One small (3 expeditions), one medium (5 expeditions) and one giant (10 expeditions).

It’s not an easy challenge. A walk around such a place means several hundred pictures and the Street View application does not help  … oh, it doesn’t help! It doesn’t combine photos automatically as it promises, it doubles them and spreads them around the whole area or accumulates in one place! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I’m learning, I’m trying, I’m changing the frequency of the pictures. I’m hiding under the covers … the effects are getting better and look so that there is no way to call them PhotoSnakes!

And plans for this year? Take a walk through 5 of the most beautiful parks in my area.

Will you ask why exactly in “my area” and not eg in all of Poland? The answer is simple. Finally, I am a Local Guide with an indication of “Local” :sunglasses:

And that’s what fascinates me recently and recently I do this (except standard shooting and describing the places I go to ).

And I also have a dream to be able to view parks on Google Maps according to the current time of the year … so that in the winter there were winter photos and in the summer, summer ones. Oh, it would be beautiful!
