As I waited at the Paris airport changing over from Atlanta on way to Mumbai, the distinct glam and glitter of the various shops did not escape my attention.
So, I did a roundup of the promenade and captured the storefronts of the most prominent shops.
Here are a few of those for your viewing pleasure.
Mention in the comments which of these brands have outlets in your city/country.
Also mention in the comments if you remember shopping from any of these brands locally.
Mention in the comments if you shopped from any of these brands online.
If the airport is so glamorous, I can only imagine how amazing downtown Paris would be.
I am not sure if all of these are all French brands.
If you can point out non-French brands, please mention in the comments.
I could not recognize any of these except Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Rolex, and Gucci.
If you know what these other brands sell, please mention in the comments.
This is clearly a general store that will sell all routine stuff and souvenirs.
Not sure if this is finac or fnac
Finally, my Air France plane got ready to be boarded and I prepared mentally to watch 3-4 more movies on board over a 9 hrs. flight to Mumbai.
Overall, it was nice tour de storefronts de glitter de glamor de Charles de Gaulle airport, actually pronounced Shaw-They-Gaw, airport.

Great work, @TusharSuradkar
You might get even more views by
- Aiming for the straight shot rather than slightly from the side
- Ensure vertical lines are always plumb
- Keep the horizon level
I might also bump up the brightness a bit.
But surely great work.
Cheers
Morten
Enjoy your next flight!

Thank you, @MortenCopenhagen .
I am a great fan of your tips and tricks about photography.
Especially your methodical style and meticulously written steps and techniques.
So, appreciation coming from your is a big thing for me.
Let me share you the ground realities, especially at the airport.
-
I had limited time window for a clear shot with people walking across all the time and also constrained space to take a photo from.
-
I insist on taking photos from a side, instead of a straight front view since a side-shot represents a more accurate depiction of the place when the user approaches it walking or a car.
-
Vertical plumb lines are I think possible only in very large distant shots, but in closeup views, correcting the perspective is a false representation of the structure.
-
Horizon level - I did not understand, so I will look up this in one of your amazingly helpful posts.
Brightness up - yes, but again in my photos captured with a basic phone camera, the glowing pixels are already too white resulting in almost a whitewash when the overall brightness is bumped up
In summary, I am a basic point-and-shoot photo enthusiast, and not a perfectionist like you when it comes to photography.
My post above took 1/3 rd of the time to compose compared to this reply, but that is OK,
I find it more worthy communicating with you than composing a post with picture-perfect photos

Hi @TusharSuradkar
I respect your point of view with regard to straight vs side shots. My reasoning is not guided much more than what the photo selection AI prefers and there with the chances to concur the cover photo position and all the views that comes with that.
May I suggest you make a few tests if you have time one day? Take both a side and a straight shot and check which get the most views. I would love to see the results.
Vertical plum lines are a direct effect of us tilting the camera down or up relative to the Storefront. Nothing else. This can easily get confused with rotating the camera.
Regarding tilted horizon please see your shots of Les Halles and the one just above. The floor is not level. You need to rotate a tiny bit anti-clockwise.
If you are interested we can discuss vertical lines in more details. I too still get it wrong sometimes.
All the best
Morten

I often wonder from your responses about the places that we both haven’t been @Pratik_89
Surprisingly I did not find a duty-free shop at the airport or perhaps it turns out that all shops at the airport are inherently duty-free.
Hey @TusharSuradkar
That’s a whole lot of glam and glitter
I have heard names of many of them. HERMES is name of some angel in their mythology and it reflects evidently. The elite shops will surely elevate your travel experience to a great level. Classic captures and presentation. Were there some eatery joints too?
