I had the chance to visit the beautiful “Panchgani” with my friends during the Monsoon region (August, 2019). This beautiful hill station is located in the famous “Maharashtra” state (India). We were lucky to visit this ravishing place during the Monsoon season which is considered to be perfect for bringing more calmness and mesmerizing environment for tourists. This place is known to posses natural healing power from any form of disorder/ailment. The literal meaning of the word Panchgani is “Five Hills” (place of 5 hills).
We (me and friends) landed at the Pune International airport from Hyderabad in the early morning hours. The travel agency booked a SUV car along with a driver and accommodation. The roads were mostly foggy through out the day along with the rain showers. This place is situated at an altitude of 1.3 Km from the sea level, so it was somewhat normal for all of us to feel mild mountain sickness. This was used to be a pollution free area in the past but with the increase in the tourist numbers we saw many plastic wastes near the beautiful valleys. Because of its location and lush greenery, oxygen content in the air here is more when compare to metro cities. We visited many beautiful old bazaars, markets, Scenic locations and participated in many recreational activities.
Recommendation: Make sure you carry light woolen clothes if you are travelling in the Monsoon or winter season and do taste the fresh strawberry shake at the Mapro Gardens.
