Pambazos from Mexico

Inspired by the highest mountain in Mexico, a volcano known as “El Pico de Orizaba”, the Pambazo has made its way into the Mexican street food.

The recipe varies by region, but here in my town it is a bread dipped in guajillo chili sauce, and fried in oil. It is filled with fried potatoes and carrots, garnished with cream and lettuce, and as a final touch fresh cheese sprinkled on the top.

Hello @MariselaCs ,

Thank you for sharing this photo with us, the meals look very exotic and delicious!

I love everything which is fried, from meat to vegetables and bread. Although it’s considered to be not very healthy, but I am definitely adding this fried food to my list.

Are there any variations of this meal with meat inside or it’s always with vegetables?

Hi @BorrisS yes it can also be with shredded meat, ground beef or sausage (chorizo), and in Puebla they have a variation filled with chicken mole. You will definitely like any of them, the favorite of my region is filled with chorizo mixed with potatoes.

Thank you for the details @MariselaCs .

I particularly appreciated the mix with the chorizo as it would add some spiciness, I guess!
