PADANG MANGATEH WEST SUMATRA vs HOBBITON NEW ZEALAND

Mangateh Padang in Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra province, is not inferior to Hobbiton New Zealand. This location is made specifically for livestock which is named Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul Dan Hijauan Pakan Ternak Padang Mengatas (BPTU-HPT). It is said that it stood since 1916 in the Dutch East Indies colonial era. Now there are at least 1400 limousine cows, etc., with around 80 employees of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The air on farms in Limapuluh Kota Regency is very fresh, its natural scenery is fascinating, and the vast expanse of green grassland is the characteristic of Padang Mangateh. The fog welcomed my presence and the group of the Regional Development Award assessment team accompanied by the Head and staff of Payakumbuh City Bappeda plus BPTU-HPT officials. The expanse of grassland which is approximately 280 hectares in Padang Mangateh is similar to Hobbiton Village located in Matamata, North Island - New Zealand. This is what makes Padang Mangateh not inferior to New Zealand by tourists who have visited here.
The main animal raised here is cattle. The people of West Sumatra, especially the Minang people, refer to cows as "Jawi or Bantiang". Some cows are left alive and roam the grassland area so that the cows get the best food and avoid stress. In this largest cattle farm and nursery in West Sumatra, there are around 1400 cattle of various types such as Limousine, Simental, coastal etc. Also seen is a stretch of land planted with cattle feed of various types.
