Today’s job was working on the locomotive to haul a cleanup train along the line at Puffing Billy Railway in Melbourne. Like Local Guides you start at a low level position until over time your prove that you’re useful and will stick around then you get trained and work your way through the ranks. It took me a long time to reach the locomotive but this volunteer job is fun and rewarding. The biggest reward is the smile on a kids face when they call up to you in a station and ask if they could do that and you explain in time yes they can. Some of them come back when their adults and do indeed work their way up. They in turn inspire some one else. Local Guides is a lot like this. People who follow you on Maps look to your content to see how they should contribute. Make your contributions the best you can. Give your followers a positive example and something to look up to. Because in time, they’ll do the same for someone else.
You are doing great as a local guides @PaulPavlinovich The work you mentioned here is also as precious as you teach us photography volunteerly. We are getting a lot of things from you and thanks a lot for that. Stay safe and keep your spirit up. Regards.
Thanks for sharing this message @PaulPavlinovich is so true, in my begging as a LG I was pretty lost and I found the right way to do the things better here learning from the oldest (not by age haha), asking dumb question again and again. Many people here was taught me patiently. Now, I try to do the same with the newbies.
Thank you so much for such a meaningful words!I @PaulPavlinovich started some days ago here in the community and I am more that glad to see people like you. I made me smile (i had felt I have had something to share with the world) a bit due to I was thinking about how do I contribute to my community and for any reason, here I am!
Not many Colombian people over here and I hope Colombia community may be bigger and bigger. I am going to begin this path!
Perhaps I am wrong but I have nothing to lose but so much to gain! I would learn so much in this community!
@PaulPavlinovich . You are right. We should try and give our best without any expectations. In long run with gradual experience our joys will be at the best level
Muy bonita reflexión la que realizas, en realidad es ir escalando poco a poco, pero lo importante es dejar esa huella y contribuir para que otros Local Guide sigan el ejemplo de y el camino a seguir. Muchos éxitos y frutos.
