Our Tips for Reviewing Australian Camping Sites

First, full reviewing disclosure: We travel without pets or children, we also have a 2wd Holden Panel van and OzTent RV5. We are grey nomads without the SUV, RV/ caravan, refrigerator, TV, air-conditioner, kids/ grand-kids or pets… sort of old school (OK, we do have a fan heater, but only when we have a powered site).

While travelling around Australia we stayed in over 200 locations. These are the things we always try to include in our reviews of camping sites:

1 Picture demonstrating what the camp site is like: campers want to know about trees, shade, grass, is it too crowded.

2 What are the facilities like, photos of toilets always generate a lot of views. There have infinitely been sites where the toilets were a put off.

3 If there is a camp kitchen, we will include a picture as well as a brief description.

4 What is the attraction, for us it is often MTB riding (sometimes hiking, running or local history). So we include in the review our actual experiences and hints.

Finally, a picture of the locals never hurts.

Hi @Zeg and thank you for sharing your tips.

Other tips when you review a camping can include if there are activities for kids, if it is pet-friendly and if all the places like kitchen, toilets are accessible for all. You can also have a look at How to take photos for campers for extra tips.
