Our Jagadhatri Puja After 12 Years

Every year, we celebrate Jagadhatri Puja with joy and happiness. This grand festival is especially held in West Bengal, India, and we used to organize it at our residence.

After 2012 there were some issues due to which we couldn’t able to organize anymore. I am using we for our elders as I was a child at that time. It’s been 12 years since we haven’t organized this puja, but this year turns out to be something special.

My sister had a dream where she saw the Goddess Jagadhatri, from that day she and we the other members of our family decided to organize this festival. After days of hard work finally we did it.

We haven’t done it so grandly as we don’t have any kind of experience but yes we have done our best, even we posted an open invitation on social media to invite people to attend this puja, and from next year onwards we will organize it grandly.

Let me clear first that I don’t know much about the puja and its schedule, please correct me if I am wrong somewhere. So on the first day, there was a puja of Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami throughout the day. During this time we were taking drinks, fruit, and tea breaks in between. The guests were also coming so there were snacks for them as well.

At night there was a huge feast, where we invited many people and also told them that if any of their known ones wanted to join this feast, they were free to do so as it’s a religious festival and the Almighty God is for all, the God never discriminates between religion, race, sex, color, caste, etc.

Due to our banner, lighting & decoration outside, everyone in the area gets to know that there is this puja going on here. On the second day, there was a puja ceremony in the morning. We started some last rituals before Visharjan, then at around 5 PM, we finally did the Visharjan and returned home with some of the guests.

After a discussion at home, all the guests soon started leaving and left till 11 PM. Here is the location of our puja on Google Maps, given below. In the next few days the reviews, pictures, and videos may fluctuate as it’s a recent event and people may add photos and give their opinions as reviews.

That’s awesome to see Jagaddhatri Puja being celebrated at your home. This inspired me to write a post on the 198th Jagaddhatri Puja celebration at my Kolkata home this year.
