Our footprint can save our tourism Places- #WorldTourismDay

World Tourism Day is celebrated annually on September 27th to raise awareness about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, and economic benefits. This year’s theme is Rethinking Tourism, which encourages us to reflect on the impact of tourism on our planet and communities, and to work together to create a more sustainable and equitable tourism industry.

Tourism is a powerful force for good. It can bring people together from all over the world to learn about each other’s cultures, promote peace and understanding, and support economic development.

On World Tourism Day, we should all take a moment to reflect on the importance of tourism and our role in creating a more sustainable and equitable industry.

Traveling responsibly. This means being mindful of our impact on the environment and local communities. We can choose to stay in sustainable accommodations, eat local food, and support local businesses.

Educating ourselves about the places we visit. We can learn about the history, culture, and environment of the places we visit before we go, and we can be respectful of local customs and traditions.

Tourism is a between cultures. It allows us to learn about and experience different ways of life, and to build relationships with people from all over the world.

To sustain a tourist attraction, not only the tourists have to grow awareness but also the locals who serve the tourists need to cooperate, which is sadly lacking in many places in Bangladesh. Locals seem to interested in draining money from the pockets of tourists rather than giving them a good service.
