Orthodox culture of drinking

I am not a big fan of alcohol and I quite seldom visit bars in the city.

Usually, I go with some of my guests who visit Saint Petersburg when we want to have some talk or take a break from a long walk along the streets.

Like any other place the first impression is important: how friendly and professional the staff, what type of clients visiting the place, the design…everything as usual.

This place I visited since their first opening and they still didn’t disappoint me :slightly_smiling_face: The name of the bar is Orthodox

" Heading our own direction. Believing in the right cause"-, their slogan. But that’s all from the orthodox image of the Russian habit of drinking.

20 cocktails of menu each one named by famous Russian artists, poets, writers, and composers. You not only have a full review of Russian culture but may discover new Russian alcohol besides vodka.

If you like city mapping based on Russian literature, this place can be perfect end for the day.

The bar is located on a popular street Rubinshteiner, 2. Each square meter here is occupied with some restaurant, cafe or just another bar. So if you would like to have a full “bar review”, you can find a great one here.

Hi @StPeterconcierge ,

I really like bars like this, where you can have a good cocktail but at the same time the atmosphere is not so chaotic and you can still have a conversation with your friends. If you really liked your experience here, why don’t you also leave a review of the place on Google Maps? This will help other Local Guides in their future choices.

** @Sorbe good idea!**

Can I do it right from this review or should I copy to the maps?

Hey @StPeterconcierge ,

You can do it directly on Google Maps, and this will be helpful both for other Local Guides and also for the place that you will review itself.

Dear @StPeterconcierge

I like this kind of posts and from time to time I like as well some alcohol. When you come once to Krakow (Poland) you should visit some places around here:

In fact I like St. Petersburg very much. Beautiful town and friendly people. So, next time I visit St. Petersburg I will try to visit the place you describe here. I undersood that it is the St. Petersburg in Russia. You can mark the place in the post, so is shows the exact location.

Oh, gosh! @TorM , thank you for advice. I totally forgot

Thank you for sharing your place in Krakow. If I happen to be there, I ask you to guide me.

This is a pretty nice bar, thank you so much for sharing with us! I like it a lot! For me this is the perfect combination - authentic cocktails in style of Russian classic writers, isn’t it? If I have a chance I would like to go there one day and Saint Petersburg is on my bucket list for sure.

What is your favorite cocktail? Since I am from Bulgaria it was interesting for me to understand that they use the Bulgarian pepper in the cocktail.

@Ivi_Ge I guess it was my mistake about spam. I’m still adjusting to this editor.

To be honest, I tried almost all of them. When we go with my friends, we share cocktails to have idea about all of them

But the bartenders are very helpful to make your choice.

I guess Bulgarian pepper is spicy enough but not that strong as chilly, I guess. But you’d better ask them when you here.

I would be happy to join you!

Thank you for the reply @StPeterconcierge and don’t worry about the spam. In the future if you have some problem don’t worry to ask us!

The Bulgarian pepper is not so strong and spicy like chilly, for sure. If I decide to go to Saint Petersburg I will ask you for more helpful tips!

I am looking forward to your future posts!
