Oropo! Recap of the Beginner Tips for Local Guides Meetup

I am very happy. The Meetup was as beautiful as I had envisaged.

It was divided into four parts;

  1. Introduction
  2. Theoretical Aspect
  3. Practical Aspect
  4. Reaction to the Responses by some Local Guides on the form to the Question; “In what way do you think your experience as a Local Guide can be improved?” ?

Introduction

This was anchored by @FalguniP , everyone who was present at the time had a chance to “introduce themselves and say why they had attended”. Thank you, Madam.

Theoretical Part

The Theoretical part covered the 5 tips;

  1. ACTIVATE - BEGINNER TIP 1 : Join the Community
  2. BUILD- BEGINNER TIP 2: Build your Maps and Connect Profile
  3. UNDERSTAND- BEGINNER TIP 3: Understand the Community (The rules and Guidelines and the People in Connect.
  4. SURROUND- BEGINNER TIP 4: Surround yourself with Positive Minded Local Guides
  5. EXPLORE- BEGINNER TIP 5: Explore the World! There are thousands of posts written here. Read articles, write articles; interact and Connect with other Local Guides.

Useful Links (prepared by Ewaade, set in this great format by @sophie_fusion )

Practical

I believe we become better Local Guides after we join Connect and participate actively.

So, we went and dealt with all of the Connect Topics;

  • What they are?
  • What makes them special?
  • Tips for writing great posts to publish on these Boards

Reaction to the Local Guides Responses on the Form

I reacted to the issues raised to the best of my knowledge.

Appreciation

So many people were here, Thank you so much for coming, I appreciate.

In a special way I wish to thank;

  1. @TravellerG
  2. @RahmatHarmanP
  3. @StephenAbraham
  4. @Sagir

Oropo is a Yoruba word which means; “There is a lot to say!”

Good recap @Ewaade_3A more importantly I got a chance to see everyone.

I don’t often participate in the meet-up. Hope I can host one in the future! I got stuck at the registration link twice and it discouraged me to host any.

How can you be stuck on anything when you have your Ewaade 24-7?

Once you are ready, let me know.

Also remember you are a star, people will go to great lengths to help you.

I was happy to see you and listen to you talk, my fine Cambodian Princess @Sophia_Cambodia

Let me talk to the presenter again @Ewaade_3A if he is available then we can proceed it. Because now it is covid-19 anyway.

I need you to help me with the link to register. Let’s me come back with the date and time again after talking to him.

Lol! I couldn’t agree less.

At least now I know the screenshots are at least 'readable’ then, I am okay with that.

Thank you for your support. But, No wait, I am not thanking you, what is mine is yours, so, thanks for hosting an amazing show yesterday. @FalguniP

I couldn’t just believe a baby who celebrated her first birthday had achieved so much. This is purely a form of great dedication by you @Ewaade_3A

Did you sleep or not. Recap done in no time. You are a rocking star.

Lol! Of course! I slept and very early too. It does not take time to make a Recap of this nature.

Thank you so much, I loved your cheerful enthusiasm yesterday.

We have to take the ‘reduction of age’ form for you :face_with_hand_over_mouth: @Gurukrishnapriya

Awwe. I am so glad I was able to do this. I am glad you understood it, too. Thank you for sharing with me and finally making me know I wasn’t crazy when I thought what you call “Visiting cards” is actually what we call “Business cards” here in Nigeria.

Thank you for showing off the ‘Guiding Stars’ mask, I like it!

I love your cheerful enthusiasm, I liked that you understood the ‘Story Game’ too :grinning: this Dog is coming for a ride on the Big Elephant. :grinning:
