Here I’m participating in the initiative started by @HiroyukiTakisawa – in which he suggests a monthly topic and we can share our thoughts & pictures related to it. #monthlytopic of February 2020 is “Station” and so, here I’m presenting my article.
Udagamandalam (Ooty) Railway Station, India
This is by far the cleanest station I’ve ever seen in my life. It doesn’t remain much crowded and one can sit here & relax (of course, after some time Rail authorities will pull you out). This is the perfect place for any movie shooting – at least for some documentaries.
The best time to visit here is during off-timings – when trains are not scheduled to leave and arrive.
Since this place is located at a hilly region (which is connected to only 1 city), train frequencies are very less.
The station looks beautiful. I love the blue colors. Do you live close to this station or were traveling past it with the train? I like those cupboards in the background, it gives it a vintage vibe. Did you wait long for the train?
The station was painted with blue colour as it is the station of Ooty hill station, which is a part of Blue Mountains. I was travelling to Ooty and came to this station for inquiring about the train schedule back to my hometown. Since the train schedule was quite late, I moved back and thus boarded a bus.
Yes, the station is quite old and was a part of Colonial rule. Thus, you can see some vintage designs here.
